Africans just did their thing, enslaving eachother, living in tribal communities, subsisting off of the land, etc. Arguably Europe improved their lives by adding modern infrastructure and medicine/technology, but we also totally destabilised their culture and worldview. I get the feeling there's a sense there of inadequacy, and a feeling to live up to the white man's achievements. Also, we caused a lot of internal strife by messing with their caste systems and caused a lot of genocides in the process, both against whites and other blacks (Rwanda) Also, their population quadrupled and is the reason they're all starving.
