>Be trump >be NYC boomer who doesn't know much about weather >has breifing on hurricane Dorian >get's told about 5-6 days out it can strike the US south east a few days past >Trump decides to make a tweet warning the states on that model chart to be ready >"Alabama" >people get on him >Instead of admiting the error he can't say he's ever wrong >Trump can never be wrong >get's sharpie >draws little blob that includes alabama >"SEE IT INCLUDED ALABAMA! I'M NOT WRONG!"
It's not the alabama comment that's an issue, he's just a NYC boomer who knows jack shit about weather. The issue is how he handled it. He was so stubborn on being wrong that he made himself look much worse than the original Alabama comment. to be fair the "alabama" comment is something 95% of Americans would also do since they're not into meteorology.
The issue here is SHARPIEGATE and now they're throwing NWS Birmingham under the bus for saying something that's true which was Alabama was not at risk at the time of the tweet. Wasn't like they were liberals at the Bham NWS, they were just reporting the weather. This whole thing could of been avoided if he said "oh I was thinking of model runs from 3-4 days ago, my bad, Alabama is not at risk but Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas, you STILL gotta prepare for #Dorian."
This could of ALL been avoided if he admitted that he made a very little mistake.
Seriously. You all post these news articles as if other people read them. Why? What is the point?
Jacob Robinson
>announcement in an unsigned statement by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
AND UNSIGNED STATEMENT LOL !!!
>can trumps lackeys can they be any more beta ?
Mason Walker
>In addition to Florida - South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama, will most likely be hit (much) harder than anticipated. Looking like one of the largest hurricanes ever. Already category 5. Only his tweet implied that Alabama would be hit hard by "one of the largest hurricanes ever." When in fact projections showed small parts of south-eastern AL having a small (~5%) chance of receiving minor tropical storm force winds.
Angel Thompson
and they ignore biden? kek. they are all too old. past 70 is just asking for trouble
Ian Edwards
That was their original angle. Now it's him supposedly justifying it, to which no one will accept any alternative possibility other than he was TOTALLY WRONG and ILLEGAL, like anyone gives a shit. I don't care if he's not apologetic, or arguing minutia, because those whining about it are no better.
It's not an 'issue', never was an 'issue' until fags like you made it an 'issue'. Fucking kill yourselves, you sorry sacks of shit.
>This could of ALL been avoided if he admitted that he made a very little mistake. But then you wouldn't have been a triggered little lefty cuck. Thanks for playing.
"would be", "could be", but let's ignore that. Let's ignore that every major news outlet and emergency service screams the same damn thing every time we face a hurricane, but should the president get it wrong, let's lynch the fucker.
Dominic Barnes
That or giving people a geography lesson, did anyone else just learn Alabama is a coastal state?
Dylan Brown
He wasn’t wrong at all. The cone shows where the EYE of the storm is expected to go. If the eye of Dorian, a massive hurricane, was anywhere near Alabama (as the cone suggested) then they would be hit by tropical storm force winds.
Robert Rivera
I never wined about it but, damn I knew sharpie gate was bad and now they're throwing our local boys under the bus and punishing them for tweeting out a truthful tweet. And they are punishing those working at the Bham NWS station btw for the tweet.
I voted for him and unless George Rockwell was running in 2020 with decent odds, I'll vote for trump again. Just this is bad. How is being stubborn about a simple mistake and firing people over it "owning the libs"
Adam Price
So, what else is going on that this is a distraction to?
Nolan Ross
"will most likely be hit much harder than anticipated" suggest something definite. Which at the time of his tweet was true for The Bahamas. I don't think he was wrong I think he struggles with reading.
Michael Rogers
>dan rathers even Bernard Goldberg hates Dan Rathers
Jace Phillips
>this is bad No, it's not. It's trivial and desperate to "win" at something like this against him. >try to claim trump was wrong on a projection/prediction >NOAA: technically he was within the realm of possibility >he should still apologize about something else now No, fuck that.
Alabama is trivial mistake by trump, the sharpie gate and having people fired for pointing something out truthful IS BAD. Remember
PEOPLE WERE FIRED OVER THIS PEOPLE WERE FIRED OVER THIS PEOPLE WERE FIRED OVER THIS PEOPLE WERE FIRED OVER THIS PEOPLE WERE FIRED OVER THIS
Also that NOAA doccument was insult to injury, not signed by anyone. Normally those NOAA doccuments are signed by someone.
Michael Scott
>likely... suggests definite Are you retarded?
Jeremiah Morales
Who was fired? >not signed That sounds like a bullshit line of reasoning.
Brody Jones
>most likely Can you read son?
Alexander Smith
A good few people at NWS Bham, of course they're gonna be quiet about it but trust me, I'm in the Bham area and I know these people. They were fired over the sent tweet.
1. forming the superlative of adjectives and adverbs, especially those of more than one syllable. "the most important event of my life" 2. to the greatest extent. "the things he most enjoyed" 3. extremely; very.
NWS makes a prediction it doesn't know for certain is correct either, but is willing to push back on the president rather than err on the side of caution. Sounds like a personal vendetta than a truly professional response. Fucking fire them.
Eli Lopez
Most itself does not mean "total", which would be a "definite".
You are literally fucking retarded.
William Thompson
The correction by the NWS was done to mitigate unnecessary alarm and panic. Any non-idiot would know that. Trump's insecurity over his life long disability is causing him to lash out at people just doing their jobs.
Grayson Parker
Sorry dummy but you can't spin this. Anybody literate would take the same meaning for it.
Jayden James
Well when he made the tweet the NHS had this as their "earliest possible arrival of TS force winds" and the map essentially shows anywhere with even a tiny chance and even then Alabama is not really in it. The NHS at BHAM saw this and tweeted out Dorian was not a threat to Alabama. Do you see Dorian as a threat to Alabama on this map? Should Tennessee be concern too? No models at the time had it hitting or effecting Alabama and I can easily pull those up. Not a single model had the storm going into the gulf AT THIS TIME or in the previous day or two.
The NWS of BHAM were right and did the correct thing in notifying the Alabama people they were not under risk of Dorian.
That hurricane did some crazy shit. I don't think anyone expected it to do what it ended up doing. That's not anyone's fault, hurricanes just be chaotic.
Jaxson Johnson
it was pretty funny tho, that he had sharpie on his chart.
