i grew up agnostic and was raised with no particular values. in my youth i was untamed and angry and nihilistic; i'm now 24 and not only am i leaning more toward responsibility and peace, but also toward faith. i long felt like my life was missing something but i was too scared to admit what i wanted. i had even laughed at documentaries like Jesus Camp and how "indoctrinated" everyone seemed, but i think now i just didn't understand how they felt.
more and more, younger generations have had higher and higher numbers of teens/young adults with no faith. and i don't have to tell you things have only been getting worse in america. it's not a coincidence.
America is 70% Christian (pic rel) and still degenerate. Philosophy is a much better alternative to religion and philosophies like Stoicism are more moral than Christianity. The reason you were edgy when you were a teen is because you were a teen, pretty sure it was just a phase. Atheism ≠ Nihilism.

grew up mormon and its all really just a massive fucking waste of time joining an organized religion i just chose to pray to god informally once in a while and try to be a kind person, respect people around me, and live the best life i can.
IMO organized religion is ruining the youth, they make it so boring and repetitive. make up silly rituals while god is not even slightly please because he can literally read everyones thoughts in the room and its all,"lets just go home and do something as a family" why would god ENJOY watching people be half fucking bored every sunday when hed rather watch your family prosper and do things together and enjoy the life he gave us all?
