How many times do I need to explain it? The GOP is owned by corporate lobbyists who actively participate in driving down wages, importing cheap workers, and generally what can be called 'globalism'.
That is one example.
Another example, the Rust Belt is because all the manufacturing moved overseas because it's cheaper to do it there. Therefore people lose their jobs in America. Many of those people are now on welfare in the flyover states, and yet Republicans consistently cut welfare (Like Trump has by the way, he defunded a bunch of social programs).
As I have said already, the majority of right wingers worship Reagan who did immense damage to the USA for similar reasons.

You're forced to pay for a useless college degree that has a poor ROI. You finally get it after years of paying and you use it to get a job that isn't great but not minimum wage. You wouldn't get rid of your degree, because having some degree is better than just having nothing.
