I haven't read David Icke; however, this is what I've gathered from other sources.
ET's are not as simple what we think they are. The Universe is as much “scientific” as it is “Spiritual.” God is not a man on a throne ruling over us, it’s more like a “source” of all love and energy that created all that ever has and ever will exist.
The Universe requires balance. Both dark and light form creation. Exactly why this is so, is not clear. However, it seems that without both sides, the purpose behind living goes away.
We do not see all that exists in the Universe. Much of it is contained within higher frequencies of light and vibration invisible to humans and our primitive technology. Dark Matter is likely what these beings are encompassed of.
The ancients’ depiction of angels and demons were primitive attempts at describing “beings” from either the dark or the light side. An angelic ET would basically just come to Earth full of love to help humanity without any harm. A demonic ET would come here with sinister plans even if it said it were providing assistance.
The basic gist of human history is this. We were created by ET’s. That is why there exists a missing link in our evolutionary chain. At one point, ET’s discovered Earth with primitive human/apes in development and saw the potential for creating a spiritually advanced species. AFAIK, this was originally being done by ET’s on the “light” who intended to make Earth a paradise. This is not the first time humanity has been at an advanced level. This piece of the puzzle is still missing; however, it appears that at some point we reached a state of high advancement (probably Atlantis-level) and negatively oriented beings began invading us and destroyed this to start humanity over.
