I'm not saying that Jack Ma is any more intelligent than Elon Musk, but Musk is able to use jokes and witty responses because he has a very firm, native comprehension of the English language.
English's vocabulary has become more intricate than any other language. If you want to ace an English course, then you can simply use a thesaurus to sound intelligent. Jack Ma doesn't seem intelligent in this video because he has a non-native, poor grasp of the English language.
What's funny is that Jack Ma is a former English teacher. It goes to show that if Eastern people really want to learn proper English, then they need to hire a white man.
