That's interesting. I need to throw mine at myheritage to see what their results are. My Ancestry results match my family tree fairly well, I'd expect more Germanic but technically my last name is Scandinavian despite a long history of living in Germany.

Yeah, I track my heritage pretty well and Ancestry DNA over all was "right" but the big part that made me raise an eyebrow was the lack of more continental Europe. I did more research about my senpai before I did myheritage and I learnt that my grandmother's parents were (confused by my grandmother, unsure by my mother) that they were from Southern Italy. My 2nd eldest aunt told me they were actually from Spain and my grandmother just kept saying Italy. Pleasant surprise as I'm studying French and Castilian Spanish! :)

I did this same one. Can't find the results,but I recognize the layout. They also gave me like 12% Finnish and some percentage N. Slavic. I have no Slavic, Finnish, or anything close to that area.

In the Americas the numbers are how they are because they are going off the local sample populations who would participate, and in the case of South and Central America, they're all Hispanic, and in N. America, they all have a little white in them as well, just like all black Americans.

Actually not, well amongst the sample populations. A lot of Indian tribes refuse to cooperate with these types of studies. You'll notice the numbers in South America are probably lowest in Bolivia, and that's because out of the regions listed, Bolivia is the least European. For the one listed in the USA, the sample population is going to be probably about 1/4 white. They should also be similar in range to Bolivia.

you can download the dna from ancestry dna and upload it to myheritage for free. that's what I did.

I would think that for America they would take only Native American DNA since genetic studies don't account for modern migration. Still overall interesting results my 87 connection to East Germany seems too high.

They can't find enough tribes to participate. Most of them refuse. I don't know why this is, but they do.
