Video games do not change how you understand success. Instead they trick you into thinking that your achievements on a video game are as valuable as achievements in real life. The video gamer still emotionally understands that value of achievements and success. The porn-watcher does not emotionally understand the value of reproductive sex in contrast to watching figures on a screen.
With this in mind, a video gamer can transition to seeking success in the real world just as he did in video games because his body and mind still tell him to be successful. He can waste his talents on videogames, but his mind has not been warped to only desire success in video games. In contrast the porn-watcher has had his mind re-define sexuality into watching and jerking as opposed to putting babies in a woman.
There is clearly a difference. Whilst both can screw up your lives, porn redefines your sexuality where video games simply give you a false sense of success. The one is causing long term damage, the other simply momentarily tricking your mind.
