I think the main issue is they 'know' they are gay or bi, or even have gender dysphoria; they just don't support the message of the mainstream LGBT groups. Usually they disagree with the publicity of it, like the pride parades or forcing it into classrooms (mandatory LGBT history, drag queen story times), or just think its a problem in general, even though they acknowledge having said problem. The LGBTQ+ is an international lobby and there's a lot of nepotism between them. They receive financial support from our Goverment but also from foreign groups, it's quite sketchy.
