Going from pastorialist to present day culture is a very big step. They not only lost almost all their land but more importantly all their culture is irrelevant outside doing a show for tourists. I don't know about spiritual and generous, but they were definitely wise and courageous back in the day. The thing is, all the wise and courageous ones died fighting, the ones that are left are the ones who didn't fight and just let the white men walk all over them.

I work with a few reservations around my area and they're mostly alright. They don't have to worry about banks/taxes and always prioritize hiring tribe members over secondaries (Mostly marriage partners outside the tribe). Most of their sole income is by casinos and nearby gas stations selling cheap tax free products like cigarettes. I haven't really had that bad of encounters with them except they do things quite a bit different and appear outwardly uninterested and unmotivated to do their jobs. If you get on their good side they'll tell you about the crazy amounts of drinking and drug usage that goes on in the casino parking lots late at night.

There's less Injuns than Jews they're so rare and as the country get flooded with spics everyone just assumes they're spics. The Hispanic man has done more to genocide the Injun than the White man ever did.

Grew up between the Salmon River reservation and Akwasane reservations they were cool. I got into Indian league lacrosse. It was great. We went out west for a league game and the western Indians were pissed that we had white people on our team.

It seems it's different where ever you go. The Indians in South Carolina where I lived for a bit were just chill and cool too. All of them had jobs, decent people and not racist at all.

In Dryden, Ontario they're kind of like pests sometimes, where they'll intentionally get your order wrong at Tim's for no reason, or you'll find them looking for cigarette butts in the ditches.

My sister went there to train to be a paramedic, and she said she'd have to go on the reservations with treaty police or else they'd kill her because she's white. She told me that the reservations are miserable and full of broken, abusive people.
