Why do people hate cops?
I kind of like them. They are also mentally tough, because you got to be if you deal with rudeness, insults, unreasonable behavior etc almost on a daily basis.
I see them as volunteers who keep subhumanism contained and who make sure people don't get raped in open daylight. It's an honorable profession.

They're mean to the general public. I get why, you deal with niggers and dregs of society all day every day, but I still find them to be rude and cold. I have -no- criminal record and my car has up to date plates and I carry insurance btw.

I live in a subdivision and the organization that runs it pays cops to sit off the road 24/7 to give massive tickets to people that dont come to a complete stop at a stop sign or drive 26mph when the speed limit is 25mph because they literally have nothing better to do and are getting extra money to do so. They also act like complete pricks to everyone. That and also how nowadays cops in general have the main job of telling people what they can and cant put in their own bodies and giving them decades behind bars if they disobey.

What would they do without them - what would we look like without them? I love law enforcement. I like Jeff Berwick, but he's insulated and thus oblivious. Without LE, society would be F U C T. Not in my experience. I do political work, have worked in over 30 states, have driven in all 50 states, 95% of the time I am driving with out of state plates. I haven't gotten a ticket in over 15 years. Have gotten pulled over around a dozen times in that period, but it's always just been a warning or some bullshit.

In America they have to stop you and immediately take you in front of a judge or make you sit in jail until one is available unless you sign the ticket agreeing to pay or show up to court later. You have to be personally handed paperwork to be financially liable because they don't know who was driving the car otherwise. Also, police use traffic stops as a pretext to do investigations and searches that would otherwise be illegal because our laws on searches restrict the government more than yours.
