I remember we used to have these Talmud reading threads. Now it looks like we're starting over, and this time, I hope I'll pay attention more. Even Gentiles could learn some things about the Talmud belief system by reading it. Koreans even read it.

If you want to get one, be careful and make sure that you get the whole Talmud, and not just one single volume or a couple of it, unless you could find the different volumes sold elsewhere, and piece them together later.

Wow, they have gone great lengths to avoid the slightest reminder of that historical episode. Where does that come from, centuries old buried guilt of association, or coming more from the direction that they fear the Christian societies of the world? What is going on when even the simple plus sign is replaced for looking too much like Jesus' place of crucifixion, reminding them too much about Jesus?

There probably are a lot of practical things about it, yes, which could be applied to real life. However, I and most of us here don't believe any of it is holy, in so far as it contradicts Christian understanding of the Old Testament. The only divinely inspired elements contained within the Talmud would be whatever Old Testament quotes could be found, themselves, and not anything surrounding those quotes before or after them. That's it.
