I had a homeless guy try to get into my truck bed today while I was stopped at a red light.
I used to think they're not much of a problem, but in the last few years they've been popping up in my town. Previously you'd probably see one or two the whole year, hanging around the mass transit station, but within the last few you can see several lounging around, begging for money, or creepily staring at people.
You want to know something disgusting? They're starting to hang around my towns supermarket now, and I overheard one of them commenting about picking parasites out of his face earlier that day, to another homeless person, who nodded his head in agreement. WHAT THE FUCK.
At least the cold weather kills some off. They're out year round here in LA. City would be 7 times better without them.

I spent time in a Salvation army shelter in Olympia Washington. I noticed that some people were off their meds, some were in trouble with the law, some like me just slipped through the cracks (it happens). But a lot of them were just undisciplined lazy fucks. Some of them I referred to as the professionally homeless. That would spend ninety days in one shelter, than move on to another one in say Eugene, Portland, or maybe Seattle and just keep moving from shelter to shelter every ninety days. That doesn't even factor in the people living under bridges.
