It's disingenuous to say this has "nothing to do with spygate" when McCabe himself signed off on the third FISA renewal to spy on Carter Page and thus - via the two-step rule - virtually the entire Trump administration.
He was also an early member of Mueller's team.
Your larger point is interesting, that sacrificing McCabe is basically a power slide to distract from even more important issues.

agree entirely, the way it went is that once FDR signed off on creating the deep state and social security they didn't like the direction he was going with it, originally blacks were excluded from the new deal and FDR even created farm subsidies and paid farmers not to grow crops to put blacks out of work
