Putin is a firm believer in the return of "The Great Game" so I don't think he's "pissed off" in any real sense by the Chinese. The Chinese seem to believe in the superpower theory, that there will always be a global hegemony stemming from one nation, they also think that with the right moves this could be them.
So how often does this piss off the Russians? Well look at De Gaulle after World War II, France has no friends, only interests... well Russia is very much the same way, in fact Putin is very much the Russian De Gaulle, complete with Politics of Grandeur.
