FN P90 is probably one of the best guns for personal home self defense at least to me personally.

1. short length - great for doorways in the home - why I don't like shotguns / rifles personally for home self protection.
2. high fire rate - it's close quarters if you are protecting the home.
3. high bullet capacity
4. low / lower recoil to as well.

SMGs have always been my favorite over shotguns / rifles (AR-15 / AK-47 type stuff).

modify the back end a bit to increase the clip to be 100+ instead of 50 or so. I don't recommend fully automatic, but semi-automatic one clip might last 5-10 minutes alone at that point then in a real world self defense home situation.

Is it worth stocking up on SS190 armor piercing ammo for the 5.7? It is fairly expensive, but I'm wondering if its worth getting some of it for a SHTF scenario, or all hype.

nah, if your going up against hard targets you have a higher success rate just using your standard issue 308 or penatrator roudy rounds for it. ss190 CAN go through most 3a+, but the only garuntee is 308 penatrator, that does in practically everything else.

For true SHTF senario, a long range bolt action rifle is vastly superior in every class.

FMJ 5.7 or hollow point 5.7 is good enough for 90% of what you could deal with. That other 10% that would be delt with should be avoided all together.
