Chinese society is fascinating, if you call their country bad they'll all band up to fight against the 'gweilo' who wants to destroy China, but at the same time Chinese people have no interest in looking after their own men and women.
This is due to the whole 'familial' society in a nutshell, the mentality that 'your family and close friends are all that matters' and 'do not interfere with other stranger's business' thus leading to situations like these where people are hesitant to help those in need.
Additionally, China's justice system is not that equal and the good Samaritan could potentially be jailed if the victim accuse them of rape of assault or risk being beaten or killed by gangs if the perpetrator is working in groups.

Police in northernChinasay they have detained a 29-year-old man following a savage attack on a toddler that was captured by security cameras and has stirred outrage after being viewed more than 20 million times on the internet.
The attack took place just before 8.45pm local time on Monday night in the city of Yan’an in Shaanxi province.
Wang Jiaolong, 29, allegedly set upon Li Zhexu, a two-year-old boy, who had been playing with a dustpan and broom on the pavement outside a shop.
A graphic video of the incident shows a man kick the child to the ground before repeatedly stamping on him. The assailant then picks up a broom and uses it to beat the small boy.
Eventually, after more than 30 seconds, bystanders can be seen running out into the street to stop the attack.
“At first I thought it was a father disciplining his child,” Wang Guoqing, a 25-year-old eyewitness, told the Chengdu Business Review.
“But how could a father be so cruel? It seemed like he didn't care whether the child lived or died. He is crazy.”
Miraculously, given the viciousness of the attack, the boy is reportedly now in a stable condition at Xi’an Children’s Hospital. He suffered a fractured skull and severe bruising but his life is not in danger, one of his uncles told local media.
Public security officials in Shaanxi province said they had detained Mr Wang, a local man who they said suffered from schizophrenia.
Police could find “no reason” for the attack, they said in an online statement.
Horrific footage of the attack spread on the Chinese internet on Thursday afternoon with more than 23 million people viewing the video in just a few hours.
“It is impossible to watch the video! Intolerable!” wrote one user of Weibo, China’s answer to Twitter.
Tens of thousands of comments were posted about the video, many of them expressing disgust that at least two witnesses to the attack had failed to intervene.
