Is there a particular reason why some Syrians look like the "white people" of the Middle East at first sight?
I discussed something like this with a Saudi user on int and he told me that people from Lebanon, Syria and Northern Iran look more like whites compared to other Arab countries.

I’m a light Leb but I can tan very dark, and I have extremely “arab” features so I don’t come off as white at all. We’re nkrthern Semites, Saudis are southern. Syrians are definitely not Arabs. Put a Syrian next to a Yemeni or a Saudi and the difference is obvious. Many of them look a lot closer to Italians, so high Roman admixture could be the reason.

No. The oldest written Arabic inscription is found in Jordan, not Saudi Arabia. The first arabs ever described were pre-Islamic Syrians. They were not bedouins. The og arabs were southern Levantine Semites, traveling merchants. Not Bedouins from Yemen. Genetics and history show that this Yemen theory is nonsense. Saudis literally cluster closer to Syrians than Yemenis who are on their southern border. Before Islam, Arabic wasn’t as common and the Levant was a mix of Aramaic, Greek, and Arabic speakers. The original Saudi script doesn’t even look like Arabic
