I was homeless for a month after being raped. Talking to most homeless most of them had something bad happen in their life- child molestation, abandonment, etc. Its quite sad.

They're not "homeless", they are extremely degenerate substance abusers who chose to pay for drugs instead of their rent or mortgage and they are perfectly fine with living on the street. It's nearly impossible to be "homeless" in a western country. They're either all addicts or very mentally ill -- even if mentally ill and if they became a ward of the state they would still end up like this, unless you decide to hold them against their will forever.

Pay the homeless money to bring trash to collection centers a la uber or some app. Utilize the homeless in positive ways and eventually you have a poor person who rents.
