Now I am not one of these fags that says I can live completely off the land. I am unwilling to surrender my internet connection. I enjoy watching porn and shitposting on Jow Forums. But I need a place and a plan to live as cheaply and away from everyone else as possible. What is the best state or area to do this in? And to the self sufficient anons, how do I do it?
If all the disaffected people in America and Canada came together, they could easily take over an entire town or neighborhood. There are also plenty of ghost towns and zombie homes out there, and squatter's right are an actual thing.

By the way, the way houses are built here vary a bit but the fundamental modern way of building (in the normal part of the country) is with giant logs or engineered wood about 30cm thick or more. Or, from terracotta bricks that are at least 30cm thick though on some houses they are 60cm thick (I'm not talking about two 30cm bricks put together I'm talking about one brick) with huge amounts of concrete and steel reinforcement. Many houses have their floor full cast-in-situ concrete. The later type of construction causes problems for mobile reception as well as wifi so many houses have repeaters but newer houses are just getting every room hooked up via ethernet cable. Of course I have been. It's nice but the place and the surrounding area is a bit touristy and probably not as awesome as you might want it to be. But, if you do visit you must try the cheese. They probably a couple dozen different types and it's a gastronomical experience. It's typically sold in the small market close by – it doesn't come in plastic wrapping but it's safe to eat. They also make a lot of smoked sausage there which is also delightful. There are other places that are awesome to visit but you need to plan ahead so that you can line up all your dates right for the different festivals and celebrations et al. I tend to think the North and North East and central areas are the most special. It's incredibly beautiful. Also, it's not very tourist friendly so to drive around aimlessly is probably a waste of your time.
