I did 1 year as an apprentice builder and my knees, back and shoulders were already getting fucked up by the end of the year. Also a lot of the work was in attics and ceiling spaces filled with hard wood dust from the demolition and cutting we were doing, I could easily see how a few more years would cause lung issues. Worst of all is that contrary to the demand meme the only way to get the job was to accept being paid below minimum wage in cash for 3 months before finally being paid minimum wage. It was absolutely death tier.

Right people who think trades are better than college from my point of view are mainly uneducated on the benefits of high education and really the long term consequences and also benefits of trades. They are great, however for most people, they can destroy you in a short amount of time.

There are/ were lots of companies wanting to hire entry level with no experience. Unlike many majors and degrees, business degrees teach students relevant things needed in business careers. Also, the operations management major teaches relevant things needed within business operations/ manufacturing planning.
I interviewed for jobs in materials management (MRP), which required the applicant to manage all the ordering and inventory levels of tens of millions of dollars worth of materials and planning/ tracking those from the PO through WIP to final inspection and delivery to customer.
Women and the very few minorities that I went to university with were hired for $60k to $110k (including stock) a year. Some of those same corporations did not want me or my fellow white classmates. Those companies would rather hire no one than a white man and also lowered standard to hire useless cunts, spic, niggers, et al for diversity.
Also interestingly, I could have gotten a job in China or Japan or maybe even Germany with my degree, but I was stupid. I wanted to stay in the USA, which ironically I hate the USA and most Americans now more than anything.
