It disturbs me to see more and more extreme pornography on the front pages of various porn sites visited by countless people 24/7. Mainstream porn is far too aggressive and dehumanizing. The themes of dominating and humiliating women are everywhere, and much of what is out there is steeped in hatred for women. It encourages the viewer to equivocate violence and degradation with sexual gratification. That can't be a net benefit for humanity, in the short or long term.
Also, porn is undeniably one of the main ways that kids learn about sex now. It's a fact that adults should face instead of deny. what pornography teaches about relationships and sexuality is dishonest, inaccurate and harmful. It teaches kids and conditions in adults that should be detached from intimacy, love, and in many cases respect. It takes something that often is a reflection of your affection for another person in healthy relationships, and perverts it into something that it is impersonal and adversarial
