The 176 is basically just a Yugoslavian clone of the 180 with a progressive trigger and different materials though. There are significant improvements, but its essentially the same rifle at its core.
Besides the camouflage, sight and lack of iron sights, its basically the 23 but the GR9s still look so damn sexy.
How does one go about acquiring a sanitized HK anyway?

Production started before Slovenia was independent. It is still produced there, and might have been originally produced in the area that became Slovenia though.
