not as new, FR8

Attached: FR8.jpg (4045x2149, 1.84M)

1942 Lithgow SMLE. Bought it as a clean shooter. Has F.T.R markings stamped with a 1947 factory refurbish date and a replacement barrel R on the Knox (brilliant practically unfired bore with deep rifling). Lockup is tight. Picked it up for $600. Not a steal especially considering no numbers match because it’s an FTR, but I was happy with the price for the basically pristine condition.

Tasteful though. I have a thing for FR-8s. They look super handy and fun.

got this Australian No1 Mk3 ( non FTR ) for 340 a few weeks ago

Attached: IMG_5032.jpg (4267x1837, 1.52M)

Nice. It’s an older one with a magazine cutoff. Decent condition too. Probably worth a lot more than you paid.

what's a good price for a gew 43? have one locally for $1500 but it's missing a charging handle and has a fair few scratches.

and the last newish one i bought was an M69 Trainer

groovy, i love the full stocks on the No1 enfields

p-please respond

It sounds like an okay deal, ask what is the lowest they would take for it, it only going to go up in value

Millennials always tellin me MSG is bad for my health. Knew they had to be wrong.

Attached: IMG_40352.jpg (4017x1901, 1.32M)

Huh. Mine's a '44 with a '47 refurb date and a replacement R stamped barrel. It also has a cracked forend. Sorry for the lack of pics, none on this computer or my phone.

>tfw two SMLE's with different things wrong with them

please, my cock can only get so hard

Yeah, mine is pretty clean. Even the butt plate is bright and shiny and ding/tarnish free. The action still had clumps of dryish cosmoline. Bought it from an older collector who picked it up in the 80s and never fired it, they were getting rid of some of their lower value stuff in order to buy an investment grade firearm.

Lmao I fucking hate Minnesotans

Where can I find an 1891 Argentine Mauser stock for this bubba job I’m trying to save?

>New addition edition

In 3 hours I'll have 4 Rootie Tooties to post.

I know the kikes at Liberty Tree have some repro stocks.

Those are for carbines not the full length rifles

All the metal is fine and the bore is mint but the kid I got it from got it from his grandad who thought it was a good idea to chop up a 125 year old rifle.

Pics of the French sword?

Please help meeeeeee

You're just gonna have to get lucky, senpai. Doesn't look like anyone sells them retail, so you'll have to hit up gun stores and smiths to see if they have any lying around.

Goddamn it. Anyone wanna buy a bubba’d argie?

It's the commercial model with adjustable rear sight. I just don't like that aspect; would rather have the conventional military fixed sights. Also it's not a military surplus pistol.

I would try calling Springfield Sporters to see if he has any available.

Call Springfield Sporters.

No pics as of yet, but as soon as I get good picture taking weather and light I'll take some good outside pics of the Remington M1917 I got Saturday, and the POSP 4X6 I got from another Jow Forums user.
But I have a question for /MSG/ about the 1917.
> It's missing its stacking ring. Are those manufacturer stamped, or can I slap any of the 3 makers onto mine and it be correct?

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, didn't know about the difference.

>can I slap any of the 3 makers onto mine and it be correct?
That's what any armorer would have done in the service. IMO that's "correct".

those grips look like Arctic birch, is that a Finn refurb?

rockislandauction.com/detail/73/455/mauser-tankgewehr-bolt-action-antitank-rifle-with-bipod

>Sestroryetsk M91
>Polyurethaned
Kill all bubbas.

While I feel that that's the general feeling, so far every piece is stamped Remington. Was just wondering if that part is stamped as well.

>selling my nagant revolver
>dude says he is going on vacation and will have his friend buy it
Uhhh...that’s a straw purchase right

That's... really fucking ugly.

Yeah. Tell him to fuck off.

Actually, wait until you get his buddy's contact info so he doesn't just try and buy it from you without you knowing.

4 new funs to look at. The wood on this one is so nice I thought it MUST have been refinished at first, but the number imprint is still clearly visible on the stock, so I don't know.

Attached: AUS - M95.jpg (2560x1440, 1.17M)

All I need is a sniper and my basic set of Mosins will be complete.

Attached: SOV - M38 Mosin-Nagant.jpg (2560x1440, 1.07M)

This one is in VERY good shape too.

Attached: SWE - M96 '21.jpg (2560x1440, 1.12M)

I think out of the three that I have though that I'm probably going to end up keeping this one. It's pre-1900 and it's Mauser-brand.

Attached: SWE - M96 Oberndorf.jpg (2560x1440, 1.12M)

A good majority of the M95s I've seen have good stocks so it may just be the way they are.

Is that an M38 or a M91/59? Rear sight base looks full length and barrel sticks out farther that I remember on my M38. I have a sniper I was trying to sell but its going west with me now.

>Swede M96

Gib pls

Attached: PU Side.jpg (2525x620, 398K)

Oh shit, I didn't even look. It IS an M91/59. Score one for RIA fucking up. I guess I still need to get an M38 then.

>Swede M96
>Gib pls

I'm selling two of them and have one buyer lined up so...

I move on Friday so even if you were near me I need to keep money saved in case my 30 year old truck decides it doesn't want to go west anymore half way through the country.

You can still give me one if you're feeling generous, I won't complain.

Well I can hold onto it for a few days to see if your truck makes it. I'm not in a HURRY to sell it.

Also, any idea how a threaded muzzle affects the value?

Nah go ahead and sell it, don't hold it for me. I won't know when I'll have money together to start buying funs again. Don't have a job lined up yet, staying with my father till things are settled down and I find an apartment.

Not sure on the muzzle, probably increases it slightly since it's a factory feature.

Any carbeaner experts here? Inland m1 carbine and what is this housing? Initial research says plainfield machine but the hammer pin is standard size

Attached: Screenshot_2018-03-28-14-59-02.png (854x480, 302K)

how do I get over my irrational hatred of short rifles? There's so many good ones out there but I need my 50" otherwise the gun just looks like shit IMO

Things I also hate: aperture sights, pistol grip stocks, bent bolts, cock on open

Also, what should my next purchase be? I only own one thing and it's a clean ass m/96
Things I want: m95 mannlicher, mauser 95, Lebel, m1907/15, m91/30, lithgow smle, gew 1911, m1903, krag

>'21
is it SA marked? most of the '20-'23s are from what I hear

How often do k98a/az pop up and for what cost?

Get a Mosin nagant m1891 if you hate short rifles so much.

I want one for the memes (I'm the user that was asking about that ushanka 2 days ago) but on the other hand I know that A) the gun is pretty shit and B) never ever worth $300 and up

>m91
>not worth $300
Nice meme dude

I was originally referring to the /30, I don't know the market on pre-1917 rifles. Something like that or a finnish one might interest me for historical value, even though they're still pretty shit

don't call them that, they're very nice people who always seem to have everything you need

everytime I order from them though I get an email the next day asking for my CCV. Is there a section that I'm missing or do they just not have a place for you to put it in the order forum?

I'm gonna suggest to them next time that this would probably speed up operations a good bit

how does /msg/ feel about undo-ing generational bubba jobs?

For example, when my grandpa passes he's going to give me his dad's 1917 marked enfield WW2 bringback. I know for a fact that my great grandpa cut it down. I never met the man but it seems that it would be best leaving it as is out of respect, no?

>tfw no replacement SMLE front upper handguards anywhere
Now I wish I hadn’t bought this. Is it hard to fix cracks? I assume it’s more than just slapping wood glue on the thing. Crack starts at nosecap and goes about 6 inches down the middle.

Attached: 8CD0630F-9FCA-45CE-91FA-89099D1A48CC.jpg (4032x3024, 1.68M)

Depends on what has been done to it. If there’s any permanent modifications, there’s nothing you can do. I remember one user bought a sporterized mas36 and bought all the stock parts, then discovered the barrel had been cut an inch.

not what I was asking, of course it's always in your best interests to undo the sporterization but would you keep the changes if one of your grandparents or great-grandparents did those changes? I mean, he brought a rifle back from the war and customized it according to his liking, I'd rather have something special like that. you can always just buy another correct enfield

lmao why would some fucknut cut the barrel one inch, if not to troll /msg/tards

If it’s worth restoring, yeah I would. Doesn’t matter if it’s your family, they are still bubba, and bubba must be undone whenever possible.

what you're saying is the equivalent of your grandkids selling all your milsurp for next to nothing when it inevitably goes to them. You're supposed to cherish your predecessor's belongings, not modify them or get rid of them (even if the modification is correct)

you wouldn't understand this because your family likely doesn't care about you

Whatever you say, bubba enabler

I mean it's a nice gun

Attached: Schwedenmauser_voll.png (1920x1280, 1.25M)

Picked up this krag from the Cabela's end of last year. Seems to be all original but missing top handguard. Receiver marked model of 1896

Attached: krag.png (750x1334, 3.45M)

I saw no Finnish markings on it anywhere when I disassembled it and cleaned it. I just think that it's old as fuck.
Damn my need for a longboi has increased greatly. Nice catch.
1895 Mausers are good guns.

Attached: 1895 Chilean profile2.jpg (1999x759, 893K)

So can anyone post some load data for the M1892 french revolver?
Specifically on the type of powder I should use.

Attached: YuuriExaminesAmmo.png (1920x1080, 1.14M)

3gr of bullseye should be fine imo. If you blow up don’t come and complain.

Update: this would be a max load with a 110gr cast bullet. You’ll get just over 700fps.

What diameter of cast bullets should I get.
What about jacketed?

Attached: IMG_0889.jpg (2387x1870, 1.23M)

Depends on your bore, .327-.330 are normal. Slug it to find out. Reduce the load by .5gr and it should be fine for jacketed.

Does anyone want to go kaboom by any chance?

gunbroker.com/item/759679658

Use epoxy, like brownells acraglass. Spread the crack carefully with a wedge, dab some epoxy in the crack, let it cure.

The newest thing I have is this

Okay, I’ll try that.

What's a good non camo patterned surp backpack

French F1.
Also this is not he appropriate thread for such a question.

I doubt you are Jow Forums.

yea, I decided I want one because of that picture you keep spamming. sexy gun

Gun store has a few Argie mausers. Are they any good? I feel like I don't have enough guns chambered in unobtanium clown calibers.

Yes.

Attached: IMG_0606.jpg (2569x3122, 1.3M)

Should I go carbine or full-length? I forget the exact details because I was in there looking at a FAL, but I think they were a 1909 (some long one with the magazine jutting down) and an engineer carbine.

Really? Thought I was In the milsurp thread.
DELET

Get that shit.

Engineer.
That's what you want.
The little mule.

>Finally decide to buy an M57
>They're on sale
Praise Browning!

Occasionally and around $500ish.

Too bad bubba got to it, a '96 Krag is a nice catch.

Not him, but I haven't seen the other 'surp thread in a while.

Eh, Argentine Mauser isn't that hard to find. PPU makes it, it's just not gonna be in your local fudd or tacticool store.

It is not.

Historically there's been two 'surp threads, one for clothes and shit and the other for guns.

Attached: USA - 1898 Springfield.jpg (3673x751, 1.83M)

Don't know if it was actually one of those. I just remember it being one of those really distinct Argie carbines with the stock going right up to the end of the muzzle.

Shit yeah forgot about the camo/militaria thread. Have some Otto Dix for your trouble.
