Had fun shooting some sporting clays yesterday with the vepr12, got a 21/25, 21/25, and ended with a mildly disappointing 17/25.
It was a bit easier course than typical sporting clays to make it fun for everyone so I probably would have been better off using cylinder bore instead of the mod choke, but at least I got to dust clays real good with the tighter patterns. And I got a free meal and didn't have to pay a dime because it was an employee/customer appreciation day which makes it extra fun.
Someone even brought a dp-12 bullpup towards the end of the day which felt surprisingly heavy even when empty because the weight is pretty concentrated. I'm not sure I'll ever like how a bullpup feels but a sweet gun anyway. It's not like that'd stop me from buying one eventually.
I'm also craving a browning citori o/u now, partially for my dad's sake since he's usually total shit at clays using a pump, but only did one hit worse than me each round using one. I hate watching him struggle and he did great with that gun. And I'd like another 12ga anyway.

He's got a big advantage on you, at least he has a stock to shoulder. But that gun didn't have any sights on it and it NEEDS a red dot or something because you can't look down sights on a barrel like a normal gun.
I don't actually know how well he did with it, he showed up right at the end when half the people were practically magdumping the remaining ammo as fast as 6 throwers could throw clays. Each shooter had a dedicated person behind them handing them ammo so they could reload faster.

Fuh guys I really want to buy a SLR107R, but hearing all these rumors about the bolt carriers impacting the trunnions and the trunnions being out of spec is really scaring me off.
