They aren't the cheapest new but often you can find them used for a good price. In my experience people buy them and don't like them because they have quite a kick and can be very unpleasant if you are not shouldering them properly.

Not too shabby, if you don't mind saving for a long ass time you could save up for a Sig 553. But you seem like more of a milsurp man, so I'd suggest a gew 98 or K98k. Or a French MAS variant if you don't mind stocking another ammo type

I got mine for about $400 dollars and the guy said he didn't like shooting it. I have put upwards of 50-100 rounds through mine in a day and my shoulder was actually sore from it.
These little Marlins are actually pretty light for the cartridge they shoot if you don't have it tight to your shoulder and have a poor grip on the rifle it will punish you. If you are shooting it correctly they are fine in my experience.

I love how the insults are varied between Jewish and Japanese-themed pejoratives whenever someone posts Jerichos.

But yes, I admit to loving Bebop and it was a factor in getting the gun.

You guys sure are lucky to live somewhere free. I live in California. All I have are some beat up airguns. I have a Mossberg 535 on the way but it hasn't arrived at the FFL yet so I still have to do paperwork and then wait my 10 days. I'll be lucky to be hasguns again two weeks from now.

Thanks. IDK why, but I love hoarding ammo. It helps that I got most of the 545 for 10-11c/r and most of the 54r for 17 or 18c/r. And all my 6.5 grendel stuff disappeared from the market just after I got 1000rds.
Here's most of the unpictured stuff. I bought 3 empty crates from sgammo to store it in.
What's it chambered in? And what other czechnology did you have before?
If it makes you feel any better. I probably use my 22cal gamo air rifle more than anything else other than the vepr12 since I do a lot of clay sports. They're great with rimfire spinner targets.

Often times yeah, and folding stocks that don't wreck ergonomics. I think 20" barrels look best on a lot of things.
And I like the idea of getting a bit more fps out of each round since I like maximum effect downrange.

Originally 7.62x45, but when I got it it had been neglected and so I had to do some repair work to get it shootable again. Since it wasn't in perfect condition by any means I opted to make it a shooter and converted it to 7.62x39 with one of those chamber sleeves you can get (pic related). I JB Welded it place to make it permanent (the kit comes with locktite to hold the sleeve in and that has a tendency to fail) shoot it all the time now and it's great, one of my favorites! Only issues I have are it'll fail to feed occasionally because the magazine is meant for the longer x45 rounds. Usually if you seat the rounds to the front of the mag instead of the back, it'll function just fine, though.

I've had a VZ24 (I think that's right, the Czech K98), and have been wanting a VZ52 but can't find one. All I see any more is the VZ2008

I find myself dropping hundreds on ammo instead of more guns. Am I stupid? I just like to have a nice stack but have nice reliable guns. I won't post pic yet until everything is together but I have 7 guns only.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that and it's arguably a better decision.

That's actually a really solid start, fampai. AR is a good next addition, too. Only other big box to check is a shotgun, then you can worry about more niche guns later, like a semi auto battle rifle and a polymer and/or CCW handgun, etc...

Frankly, I should stop buying guns until I have more ammo stockpiled. Got lots of 7.62x39, but everything else is sorely lacking.

For PRACTICAL purposes you only need 4 or 5 guns before you start hitting diminishing returns on usefulness. If you're a collector obviously that's different, but a practical collection only needs a few things:

Tactical carbine
Concealable pistol
12 gauge shotgun
.22 rifle
Full power hunting rifle

After that there's more that you can add that will fill niches, but those niches get smaller and smaller.

SKS is intermediate, not full power. Think .308 class, though not necessarily that high.

What about the rem 700? That would probably be my last purchase. .308 or 30'06? My brother has a 30'06 rem 700 but he never goes out and I don't want to turn him into a nogunner if I buy it from him.
Also forgot to mention I have a mosin nagant that my other bro is giving back to me but apparently there is some cracks in the stock and I should fix that somehow.

A 700 in a full power cartridge would do it, as would a Mosin with a good scope, though you'd be better off buying a new gun over trying to scope your Mosin.

As for .30-06 vs. 308 I'd say it doesn't really matter. .308 is a bit cheaper, but in the end they are both widely available.
