Mini posting should be a banable offense.
that is not an argument
They're not bad, decent precision, good change from an AR. If you want to fully kit it out, it will cost about the same as a midtier AR so don't fully yourself that its better. The main purpose of mine is having an accessable adjustable gas with a suppressor while being able to top-load cartridges and manually cycle easily. Other than that, optic mounting sucks, mag searching sucks, the rando-Ruger threads on the barrel suck, and you WILL have to spend money on it to get a better stock, accustrut, top-rail, etc.
Worth it if you have cash and want something different.
Nobody has one and they're the worst rifle ever made in the history of firearms.
This.
Buy either an AR15 or an M1A, no reason to buy a halfway abomination of the two.
Mini 14's are superior to AR15's only due to Bill Ruger's fuddery and video games did the AR15 become popular, and import bans killed much better and more interesting guns.
They're ok. If you're in the market for one, look at a 580+ serial number and you'll do fine.
This. Mods do your job
Unless you’re in a cuck state like California stick with the AR
AR is "objectively" better if you only care about having a high-speed low-drag rifle
but a Mini-14 is a perfectly serviceable and reliable firearm that is reasonably accurate in current production
they're fun to shoot and cool to own
are you upset?
>t. fbi
Only in cuck states. Waste of trips.
>are they worth it?
No. If you really want one get an M1A instead.
>instead of a reasonably priced light handy 5.56 rifle, buy an expensive and heavy 7.62 rifle made by the sellout cucks at Springfield Armory
no because m14 in 556 is stypid
>reasonably priced
Less modular and accurate than an AR of equal or lesser price. Proprietary magazines.
>Proprietary magazines.
Literally the only reason i still do not own a mini-14
even though, i sort of want one. the mag thing stops me every time
You can get new ones for less than Makarov and fal magazines.
Fun gun. I wouldn't pay full-boat retail though.
its just the idea that it is a 5.56 mag almost the exact same size & shape as a Stanag, but its not.
i already have a fuckton of ar mags that i can use for any AR i have now or buy later without the issue of having buy more with each rifle and keep them separate from each other. fuck there are several other 5.56 rifles beside the AR that take Stanags.
there's just no way in hell i'm buying a 5.56 rifle that needs its own special snowflake mags
There’s usually mini-14s in yasnaya and georgeopol. Good luck finding an 8x
but how many mags do you really need
you already have an AR-15 to be your fighting rifle if you ever, god forbid, actually have to take up arms in defense of this country
if the AR is your fighting rifle, the Mini-14 can be just for fun, so maybe you need two or three mags and it comes with one already
My dad has three lmao
Not gonna lie. Kinda neat. You need to collect the whole set now with an M1A in a sage chassis too.
They're not as good as a AR but they're more "ban proof". Personally i'm buying a bunch of AR's as soon as I can, but i'll buy a mini 14 that ill use if they ever ban AR's. Keep the AR's buried until Civil War 2.0 officially starts.
>Civil War 2.0 officially starts.
what's with this meme anyway? civil war between who? it makes no sense.
>you already have an AR-15 to be your fighting rifle if you ever, god forbid, actually have to take up arms in defense of this country
our defense budget is close to a trillion dollars. you don't think they can afford to issue m16s to draftees?
Between 2a supporters and the normies who we'll send to Canada like the last group of people that got on the wrong side of the American Expereriment.
2A supporters are not going to start a civil war and neither are gun control advocates. if something like that does happen or appear to happen, you can be sure it's false flag, hoax, or somehow due to the involvement of a third party.
Neither of these are concerns unless you're adopting a standard rifle for a group of people or are a poorfag.
Favorite bush gun
t. a Canadian
in fact, this is a big concern of mine.
youtube.com
Is a great gun if you want to learn now to troubleshoot.
(((Who))) would do such a thing
of course, the more likely explanation for the AR meme is that they want people to be familiar with that platform because it's what most of our armed forces use. but that seems like an asinine way to go about it, compared to something like the civilian marksmanship program.
why does every motive need some nonsensical farce to hide behind? why is there such a lack of transparency?
i'll try and answer my own question. it's probably they want us to bear the cost and the political grief, and they don't care about the polarizing effect that this has.
so if they don't like my choice of rifle, then they're welcome to buy me a rifle that they do like. but i'm definitely not hopping on the bandwagon.
My dad carried a cut down mini 14 in his jacket for years

Why the fuck do people here even get involved in coversation if they're never going to buy anything and their only talking points are fighting capabilities? Does no one buy a fucking gun for collection or fun around here?
its the effect of normie invasion. I was never on Jow Forums that much till recently, past six months or so, but I did from time to time in the past, the entire site's content quality is nose diving because of so many reddifugees.

If you want a mini 14 its worth it. If you don't it's not.
>8 inches of eye relief
not the user you're replying to, but i never once mentioned "fighting" in any of my previous posts.
i just don't want to clusterfuck my limited storage space with multiple different types of incompatible 5.56 mags.
i'm trying to downsize, streamline and simplify my collection. since i already have a fuckload of Stanag 5.56 mags for ARs, i just cant get comfortable with the idea of having a whole different and incompatible set of 5.56 mags for one non-conforming rifle
otherwise, i would love to have a min-14 to fuck around with. if it was Stanag compatible i would buy one tomorrow
It's an M14 in a better caliber, so yeah, it's worth it.
in short, they want to have their cake and eat it too. they want people to be proficient with AR-15 style rifles, but they do not want to pay for it, nor will they allow us to own full-powered versions like the m16. how insulting.
Have one.
Nope, not worth it.
Would trade for an AR-15 any day.
and what's even more insulting is that i'm expected to believe all the propaganda and FUD they spread. do they perhaps think i am an idiot?
truly i did nothing to deserve being on the butt end of this farce.
Have one, not really worth it unless you can find one for cheap. AR's are a much better, both for their price point and for what they can do.
>for what they can do.
Shoot left handed for the same price?
They're cool. Most people just buy a bargain bin AR though.
Scout rifle nibba
Dumb AR fags with nothing to contribute. I wonder why gun culture is dying.
You're so right. ARfags and their no fun allowed autism is the worst
I hate to ask in a troll thread, but what are the non-meme aftermarket Mini-14 stocks right now? I have a GB model with a shrunken wooden stock and I was thinking of trying something different.
What do these underbarrel things actually do? Are they just extra weight to keep barrel whip down?
>Are they just extra weight to keep barrel whip down?
Yeah. They connect the barrel to the gas block for more rigidity. Only really beneficial on the models without tapered barrels.
You're dumber than snake mittens.
god damn, put that thing out of its misery
I love my mini... AND my AR
My advice is to buy both.
how much weight does that chassis add?
I'd buy a .300blk mini over a .300blk AR, desu.
>not a vz58 or even a sks
It’s like you don’t want .30 cal power if you run into a bear. Also why did you do a retarded amount of eye relief? Tying to do the scout meme with a mini?
Why is that?
I used to be obsessed with those guns, then I found out that you can't feed them STANAGs. Ruins it for me, desu
Mini-14s are cool if you want a relatively small gun. Less bulky than most ARs.
