While nobody is looking, Hungary is slowly, but steadily rebuilding its military capacity. Like most militaries in Central-Eastern Europe, the Hungarian Army has been downsized to ridiculous levels, but in the past few years, a buildup process has been noticed. They start with the basics; a new service uniform is being issued to the troops, the old Ludovika military academy has been reestablished, new cargo planes were/are purchased, the country's aging Mi-24 fleet is being overhauled and recently Hungary and the Czech Republic has signed an agreement about joint weapons production and development.
(Also, the Hungarian Military regularly organizes military themed summer camps for kids, said camps are said to be quite popular with more and more kids signing up every year.)
Isn't the reputation and social status of the military in hungary quite horrible?

good to hear. maybe some of the European countries are getting ready to tell the EU to get fucked how they ever thought it was a good idea to begin with is beyond me
The basic concept of an european union isn't that bad, but the execution in the form of supranational union with questionable democratic legitimation and dominated strongly by france and germany is pretty terrible.
Ian Parker
the bssic concept of communism isnt that bad either, but in reality...
Michael Miller
Hungary superpower 2020??

>Mi-24 fleet is being overhauled What use can Mi-24 have for a NATO country? Also, who going to repair it?
Andrew Hall
Don't be a idiot, pretty much all East European countries rapidly rearming because of Russia. And EU have nothing to with this, EU and nato is two different entities.
>Nato countries in EU have nothing to do with EU >V4 is one great terms with EU >all those recent speeches from Orban are a non-issue >hungary is worried about russia and only russia >don't be AN idiot
Brody Mitchell
yes they plan on buying up all of the new french surplus
Joseph Thompson
>Russia Reminder that Hungary was one of the few EU countries who didn't expelled russian diplomats Reminder that Orban has been shitting all over soros and eu self destructive policies
Blake Young
yes but the EEC was great at what it did. When they began to add more and more integration is when the problems we see today were created. The loose collective of economically connected countries was the pinnacle of efficient European integration.
Ryan Campbell
The issue as it stands is that >50% of the european countries are way too small to play any meaningful role on the modern world stage, therefore some kind of union is necessary but some loose union largely focussed on defence, standardization in trade and safety norms and free trade would probably get substantially more support than some dysfunctional superstate run by germany and france, which is disliked by the majority of it's population.
Josiah Brooks
well as a burgerlander i know little of the details on how it got to where it is today. but i can tell by looking at it from the outside that it is a bad deal in its current form
Samuel Gonzalez
I don't know what you trying to say here. In last 80 Hungary suffered from 50 years long russian occupation and two russian invasions. And you think they rearming because they afraid of EU? EU is political-economic alliance, they don't even have a military.
Carson Robinson
oh the current organization is awful. Some rules and regulations are ok but the amount of redtape and politics in the EU makes it almost useless. Not to mention that the European Parliament is a joke that should be dissolved.
Defer more powers to the nation states and make sure that you work with countries at the peripheries rather than ignoring/shitting on them.
David Myers
Hungarys largest foreign supplier in the last year was Israel aka organs favorite country
> recently Hungary and the Czech Republic has signed an agreement about joint weapons production and development. Not surprising, considering everything west of Austria will be in civil wars within 20 years. Visegrad is going to become the true voice of Europe, whereas the rest of the shambling shabbos empire collapses.
Logan Watson
Standard play. Jews from Israel arm the country while other Jews come to destroy them. Same thing happened in South Africa and Rhodesia, and look where they are now.
They have battlegroups and If they stay on course they'll have a military in less than 10 years Russia may be a threat but not near as big as the looming migrant horde threats from the EU. NATO is already at Russian borders. You think Russia will make the first move? youtube.com/watch?v=GdukS5Ac2wM
Dominic Taylor
>You think Russia will make the first move? No. They can wait out Europe and watch it implode while sipping vodka, then flood the market with cheap fossil fuels, food, and armaments. Russia will become a superpower again solely because of Europe's flirtation with communism and racial annihilation.
Wyatt Evans
pretty much this

Hungry has been Russia's lap bitch for the last 100 years, the 1956 riots being the exception.
>Buying fences from the stolen land country I know that German company was complaining about selling to Hungary but can't they produce in house? How can't you produce fences in a 10M pop country? Looking at how things are going there will be lots of requests for it, time to start producing.
>Bulgaria >Serbia >Austria >Croatia All potential buyers
Joshua Ross
Let's oversimplify a ton.
Imagine if the American State was ruled by bankers. Take out military and foreign policy (that's NATO) and the only countries with borderline control are Germany and sometimes France. And Germans can't even run their own country nowadays.
It's a mess.
In the majority of the EU being a soldier isn't hot stuff. We don't have "THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE" mentality, more like "you shoot guns? Oh, fun. How much do you earn by the way?"
William Allen
>Imagine if the American State was ruled by bankers. You don't even have to imagine that.
i'd love to stimulate her domestic investments if you know what I mean

>Imagine if the American State was ruled by bankers. But it is?

I wonder how people switched from creating wealth to being dependent on others for wealth. Probably around the time the Fed was invented and imposed. The decline of the family-owned business was the decline of America.
Many of the former Warsaw Pact nations that joined NATO post-1991 retained and incorporated Soviet designed and built weapons systems in their armed forces. The Poles still fly MiG29 for example.
I'm not going to say too much here but all in all this is more about replacing stuff that is 'in service' but is either obsolete or in disrepair to the point of dangers to the user. Yes their forces are underpowered and underfunded but I promise you even THEIR most promising estimates for a working force are nowhere near what your hype for them.
Also source for that summer camp claim. I'm looking at one of my old home defence pins right now but I've heard nothing of the sort about a resurgence. That stuff hasn't been around in any serious capacity since communism.
Cameron Wood
I'd like to milk her tits with my mouth if you know what i mean
