It’s comfy. Just not sure what to do to mend frayed drawstrings. They should be covered in metal at the tips imo
Is pretty sturdy and a lot of it is basically coyote tan.
Great way to Gray Man in a rural area.
Make sure they are dirty and well worn.
The quality has started to drop off. It's fine now, but re-evaluate in 2 years.
>in b4 a simillar thread asking if Jow Forums approves of redwings
btw pic related is ideal work boot
>btw pic related is ideal work boot
Pic related are better. Goodyear welt
yes
Aglet.
>mend frayed drawstrings
e-6000
Warm, and looks nice once I used a seam ripper to remove that fuck huge logo off the front of my jacket.
too bad the redwings are better
Chinesewings are garbage
Its mostly all I wear. It lasts years of daily use. I rotate 6 shirts jeans, and hoodies for work. 4 of the shirts are great. 5 of the jeans are. All the hoodies are great.
They just dont seem to wear anywhere near as fast as other clothes. Its hard to beat Wrangler jeans, and Carhartt does
>not knowing about, and purchasing exclusively the made in america's
I only wear Frye boots.
I have the black version (1426's) as my EMS boot. I usually get 6+ years out of a pair in hard, 24-hours-straight, 60 hours/week EMS use working year-round in New England. They can handle 6"+ deep puddles, breathe in the summer, and keep my feet warm in snow/sub-zero conditions, and I have never had a pair lose its waterproofing or wear a sole through, not once, which happens in a year or two with the cheaper boots.
They're absolutely worth the $325.
That's why you only buy the US made ones. Send a clear message to corporate that we will not tolerate any of that job-destroying kikery.
exactly, great for platform and construction work as well, though in deeper wetlands you will need muck boots.
Good stuff
>mend frayed drawstrings
tie a knot at the end
>Its hard to beat Wrangler jeans, and Carhartt does
was wondering this the other day in Tractor Supply, went looking for jeans reviews afterwards and ran into a ton of gay shit and $500 hipster jeans.
Ive been wearing Carhartt jeans for around 6-8 years and I have yet to have one of them split at the balls/ass. Ive worn Wranglers for most of my nearly 40 year life, and they split occasionally. Is the $50 Carhartt jean worth more than the $25 Wrangler? Its up to you. I wear my jeans 7 days a week, 365. Im not really complain about $50 jeans. I AM going to complain when my Wranglers rip and my balls get cold 2 hours into a 10 hour day
>my rubber lining is better
I'm a truck driver a wear the same 5 sets of clothes over and over every week. Carhartt stands up well to heavu use.
Also shirts are long enough they don't ride up over the glawk when one bends over
Ill also say the shirts dont get small holes and stretch like others do. The hoodies in Heavyweight are good for just about any winter south of Chicago without a jacket. The cuffs of the hoodies also dont seem to permanently stretch when pushed up the forearm like all others do.
Red Wing is shit unless you spend $200+. They don't even use Goodyear welts on 95% of the boots they sell. Perfect for a plebeian like yourself. Some of the boots they pass off as "new" boots are second quality. The welt they glue and press over the outsole and upper don't even line up correctly. The welt is machine applied. Might as well be fucking direct injection molded soles. Red Wings are not the end-all of boots. Danner, Chippewa, Thorogood, Carolina are all comparable, but the Red Wings you pictured are nothing better than basic $100 boots. The only redeeming factor of those Red Wings is the leather. It's quality leather, but basic production quality at best.
t. worked in shoe sales
>spending less than 300 on work boots
>not recognizing those boots as top of the line work boots
k m8
Sure, I don't wear it myself but they make good stuff. Personally I'm sweaty enough without wearing canvas around all day, but that's just me.
>spending $300 on boots that are not Goodyear Welted
I knew Jow Forums was a bunch of queers.
>lace up boots
people like you are the reason 300$ boots were adopted by flannel wearing barrista's
Red Wing-user and Chippewanon will at least still have boots on their feet when they get out of the truck and actually go innawoods in the snow and mud. You're just an soyboy invalid who can't even comprehend Velcro which is a step above your autishoes.
i remember the season I worked at UPS night shift during the winter, we had about a week of below 0 weather and 2 more a weeks hovering around 10, i swear everyone was wearing carhartt shit, and for good reason.
>Goodyear welt
The deciding factor for any boot I buy.
>not knowing they are made in America with Chinese leather
>ask if Jow Forums approves of the textile equivalent of god.
Are you retarded op?
4 years in the oil fields. the toe is coming through of course.
other than that I love em.
I've heard good and bad things about the wolverines western boots. ariats are a bit too heavy.
Im the only guy on Jow Forums who innawoods with western boots?
I like carharrt because every single working class white guy wears carhartt.
it's like the nike swoosh for niggers.
blend in perfect.
all depends on the price though.
takes forever to break in a jacket.
Who cares? Buy it if you like it.
Key/Polar King > Carshartt
>2018
>wearing cowboy boots
please stop
Ariat is best walkers. I save my luccheses for nicer occasions and visiting my family back in Texas though
Jow Forums loves lace up boots. and new balances for inna woods.
however there is a faction of Jow Forums like me and this guy who dont jerk off to traps or watch anime.
all my buddies swear by ariats. if they ever made one with a good tread instead of a fuck huge heel I'd try them out for on the trail.
Enjoy your heels faggot
I'm a 37 yr old farmer and have been wearing Redwings since I was 12. Their quality has gone to shit since they started manufacturing in China. I can't even make it a year with a pair of work boots. The soles wear out. It used to be that the stitching would wear out a little after a year and you could get that fixed by a cobbler. I think I'm going to try Justin work boots next.
Redwings are God tier work boots
Farmer/rancher here. There's no way I could deal with lace-ups. The laces get covered in mud and shit.
im this guy I suggest them.
half the price of redwings and the fits good. get the waterproof of course.
Carhartt double front duckwash is my go to. They wear like iron. Will take about 9 months to break in (worn 3 days each week) and stop rubbing off all your leg hair. They hold up well too. Being able to slip a knee pad into the double front makes a huge difference.
Carhartt jeans are shit. Never spend less than $70 on a pair of pants unless you like buying new ones.
My keens steel toe boots are holding up well, replaced the laces with leather ones right off the bat though. Being able to cut the sipping deeper as needed is a major positive when working on smooth plate steel, grain polished chutes and boiler plate ice (still recommend yak-traks on the ice)
>welder
The pants fit the label size, and the shirts are tough and comfy. The coats are also 10/10. I happily shill them, until they go the way of Filson and start to shit out.
I agree about lace up boots and shit getting in the laces doing farm work or mucking stalls but you've got to be brain dead to do it more than once or once at all. Use your brain kids.
Anyone notice hipsters wearing Carhartt now? Pisses me off
>Hiking sole on a cowboy boot
That destroys the entire fucking point
Carhartt + milsup is best clothing combo.
This, I put gel inserts in mine and they're comfy as fuck work boots
Sewn in MX now; biggest problem is that hipsters, who LARP as actual men wear them in excess, especially items w/logos
You ever tried running from the cops in cowboy boots? Shit just ain't happening.
It is tho
Carhartt head to toe is white trash ballin'
related, I wear carhartt head to toe because I'm white trash ballin'. I've been rocking Timberlands because they are working class guchi but they're wearing out. Suggestions?
Depends on the model of Timberland you wear. I wear Golden Fox which are US made and $85 a pair
Carhartt is good. All the wannabe tacticool ROTC kids at my school wear it, so it has to be, r-right?
Regular or wip?
It's quality clothes and stuff no doubt! Problem is as lamented here; every wannabe soyboi is into wearing it nowdays. They stand out like crazy though, the lily white skin that never sees sunshine marks them quickly. LOL, whenever the Carhartt cowboys show up.
>Hickok45 here
Friendo, you can get drawstring tip kits at some sewing shops I hear. They heat shrink on and are very durable. Send in the "old lady" if that's better .
fags
Not to derail but on the same subject of textiles, what do you guys think about products from duluth trading company?

Truly the brand of the"glamping" city-slicker wanna-be "woodsman" hipster poser just doing it for the aesthetic and social media attention whoring.
So quality wise...? I couldn't give a fuck about appearances. Just wanna know if it's comfy & durable.
Their underwear is good but stupidly pricey. I got some as a gift, but I wouldn't buy it normally.
Like said their underwear is good but expensive. The rest of their stuff is at a weird price/quality point between too expensive and cheaply manufactured to be viable for real work use but not high-quality or fashionable and nicely-tailored enough for use as street clothes if you're going for woodsman hipster look.
tfw I am a soyboy cowboy fraud. people dont seem to notice though.
shouldnt wear band t shirts with my carhartt.
I think I have those same boots.
Armachillo is comfy af though. My testicles are nice and cool
i prefer prison blues wear
very durable and comfortable and pretty reasonably priced as well
big bill double front jeans are also quite good i hear but i've yet to purchase a pair
I got ariat work boots with the steel toe and I honestly prefer a lace up work boot and a casual cowboy boot, I found myself somewhat unsure if my boot would stay on and they dug into my heel like a motherfucker compared to normal boots.
that said, the ariat h2os are pretty good somewhat-poorfag work boots
Their guns are pretty shit.
Duluth is better.
I have had buck naked boxers for years and they still hold up.
Their Tradesman fit T shirts are superior to Carharts in every way from toughness to feeling soft after frequent use and wash.
Duluth sucks at everything else though if you want a jacket, get carhearys and if you want pants, wear 5.11 pro tac lites.
Do duluth firehose jeans suck?
Their Underwear is their best product.
I won't need new underwear for decades.
Buck naked performance boxers are silky soft yet rugged.
...I hate denim in general, So I'm the wrong guy to ask.
