So i just picked up my 3" Ruger SP101 .357 mag revolver. It has no rifling. At all.
Has anyone else encountered this? Called my FFL and he said he's never heard of it. Of course, I get back the second that Ruger closes for a three day weekend. I now can't contact them at all, all the while possessing an illegal handgun. I don't exactly know what to do.

some of the newer rifling cuts are very subtle, looking more like an etching than proper rifling
my sig's rifling is only a few thousandths deep
on a ruger 357 i would expect significant rifling depth.

Any concealable (under 26" OAL) gun is an AOW by default.

Smoothbore handguns like OP's are explicitly AOWs. (Maybe this wouldn't apply if there's no shotshells available in that caliber. But there are, pic related.)

Rifled handguns are excluded, which is the only reason non-NFA pistol or revolver exist -- but since OP's isn't rifled, it doesn't qualify. So it's an AOW, both by default and specifically.
