So i just picked up my 3" Ruger SP101 .357 mag revolver. It has no rifling. At all.
Has anyone else encountered this? Called my FFL and he said he's never heard of it. Of course, I get back the second that Ruger closes for a three day weekend. I now can't contact them at all, all the while possessing an illegal handgun. I don't exactly know what to do.
Anyone receive a brand new gun that's fucking broketed?
What's the twist rate for 357 magnum anyway? Is it possible that you're just not seeing it?
Christopher Richardson
> Revolver isn't supposed to have rifling you dolt found the NoGunz... why must you make me hate you?
Jaxon Nguyen
You choose to hate me
Jonathan Ramirez
maybe he meant the cylinder, but still
Connor Wood
> twist for a 357 it varies. i have 3, and all use different twists > just not seeing it some of the newer rifling cuts are very subtle, looking more like an etching than proper rifling my sig's rifling is only a few thousandths deep on a ruger 357 i would expect significant rifling depth.
Logan Young
go away, atf
nah dude, it's entirely absent. i found some comparable pictures of SP101's and the rifling is very prevalent.
Jason Long
If it had rifling then it wouod be a rifle, not a revolver. Duh.
Adrian Turner
no, you forced my hand. i would prefer to have never encountered your retarded idiocy, but you imposed this shit on us all.
Easton Howard
My first suggestion would be to not post about it on Jow Forums. People who don't get caught don't tell everybody else what they did.
Brandon Ramirez
> implying i requested pics of serial number dumbass, i asked for pics of the interior of the bore. the atf doesnt give a wet shit about what your bore looks like
Liam Gomez
>37356747 no (you) for you.
Nicholas Bailey
hence why i used a stock photograph. even if i somehow had a run in with the law, i have the paperwork to prove that i just picked it up and an email confirmation for ruger on the matter. not that paranoid.
yeah from what ive seen, standard rifling is very evident.
Samuel Bailey
Post pic of bore

Loose lips sink ships. Keep that shit on the low and call Ruger when they open back the fuck up. They'll gladly fix it because that's a potential lawsuit.
Adam Russell
How is an unrifled pistol illegal for you to have? I'm pretty sure it just ends up being a "firearm" instead of an AOW.
Samuel Myers
It would have to be over 26” long to be considered not ‘concealable’ and therefore just a ‘firearm’.
Bentley Torres
Sage goes in all fields for those unwilling to prove what they claim.
Robert Foster
>Illegal for there to be no rifling Why??
Gavin Howard
>not that paranoid. so show us the fucking bore.
Dylan Reyes
sage this shit until OP posts the fucking bore. But OP wont cuz this is bullshit or OP is fucking retarded
Caleb Hall
Pics or gtfo
James Nelson
Lol, some one one here posted a pic of their new S&w mp a few years ago, they couldn’t figure out why it was key holing. He posted a pic of his bore and there was no rifling at all, some pretty funny memes about that one if you can find em
Hunter Powell
>maybe
Maybe both of you are fucking retarded.
Sebastian Parker
>didnt inspect bore when he picked up the firearm you fucked up you dummy
From NFA definitions: >The term “any other weapon” means any weapon or device capable of being concealed on the person from which a shot can be discharged through the energy of an explosive, a pistol or revolver having a barrel with a smooth bore designed or redesigned to fire a fixed shotgun shell, weapons with combination shotgun and rifle barrels 12 inches or more, less than 18 inches in length, from which only a single discharge can be made from either barrel without manual reloading, and shall include any such weapon which may be readily restored to fire. Such term shall not include a pistol or a revolver having a rifled bore, or rifled bores, or weapons designed, made, or intended to be fired from the shoulder and not capable of firing fixed ammunition. Let's go through the relevant bits, Jow Forumslass... >any weapon or device capable of being concealed on the person from which a shot can be discharged through the energy of an explosive Any concealable (under 26" OAL) gun is an AOW by default. >a pistol or revolver having a barrel with a smooth bore designed or redesigned to fire a fixed shotgun shell Smoothbore handguns like OP's are explicitly AOWs. (Maybe this wouldn't apply if there's no shotshells available in that caliber. But there are, pic related.) >Such term shall not include a pistol or a revolver having a rifled bore, or rifled bores Rifled handguns are excluded, which is the only reason non-NFA pistol or revolver exist -- but since OP's isn't rifled, it doesn't qualify. So it's an AOW, both by default and specifically.
The responses in this thread of obvious baiting and dipshits responding to the bait is the reason Jow Forums is a garbage board these days.

You can try to not care. You'll turn into a witch really fast if you let every dumb user taint your soul gem
Justin Bennett
Yeah, they're gonna get ya' for your revolver that's supposed to have rifling but doesn't. That's why everyone with a shot-out pistol is wasting away in prison.
