Suppy and demand I suppose. An SVD in .308, while not as cool looking, you could get better groupings with the correct ammo.

I would like to own a CZ 52, I really do, but I'm aware of its shorcomings: the slide lock/realase lever lacks of a tab to engage/disengage it manually (there is an aftermarket extended slide lock/realease), the locking rollers and firing pin are a bit fragile, specially the latter (again, there's aftermarket replacement that work so much better), decocker on a SA only pistol (it's weird, not really against it, but the one in the CZ 52 is not one to be trusted, they worn out easily). Other than that it's said to be a pretty accurate pistol, specially with good ammo. It used to be aftermarket 9mm Para barrels for it.
Not really worth it, a Tokarev is much better.

It's a cool range toy, specially if yours has a 9mm Para barrel, but if it doesn't ,yeah 9mm Steyr is hard to come by and you can't use .38 Super Auto on them.
A well built one is pretty reliable.
