Hi Jow Forums

Hi Jow Forums,

Please kpill me on 9mm ARs. I'm considering one for HD and a future suppressor host. How does a standard receiver set/magblock solution compare to a billet lower made for Glock mags?

get a 5.56 pistol with a brace or convert a 5.56 rifle to an SBR

B-but 5.56 is poop out of short barrels.

much better than 9mm while still being compact and effective for home defense

not like you're going to need it for 100m+ shots

The advantage of the mag block is you can convert to 5.56 shorty(which isn't really ideal when 300blk exists). Maybe other user's can talk about why 5.56 is shit out of short barrels, if it was still effective to like 100yards, I wouldn't care, but as far as use in the house, 9mm would be better.
The cons of the magblock is they are expensive and relocate the mag release to non-standard AR position.
Dedicated 9mm glock mag fed lowers are fairly common and a complete pistol w/ brace is around $600. I'd go with a dedicated 9mm lower.

Seems like the consensus is the dedicated lower is simple, cheaper (mags) amd more practical. But it doesnt look as cool.

But i am an mpxfag so you can discard my opinion

if you want 9mm for something practical get a real pistol, otherwise go .300 and self-load.

I like the idea of a 9mm suppressed carbine as a home defense gun. Less blast, less noise, very controllable and super effective close quarters.

You won't deafen yourself or blind yourself if you have to use it. I would personally also look at the Ruger PC9. Very heavy but for a home defense gun that's irrelevant mostly.

I like to shoot high volumes and doing that with .300 would bankrupt me.

I strongly advise against using anything "tactical" in home defense, and especially nothing NFA (suppressed).
Trust me friendo, your local AG would make an example out of you.

Then take the suppressor off after you've handled the situation. I'm not going to want to deafen and permanently harm myself just because I had to use a gun in the home.

That depends on your state, friendo. Here in "everything is OK land" i could probably get away with magdumping some dindus with an m82

He said self load. You can get 300blk down to an extremely low cpr by reloading.

what kind of rear sight is on this gun?

Really? CC maybe but the castle doctrine is in all states, and I haven't ever heard of someone getting fucked for shooting an intruder in their own home. Some states are cucked but not like EU/Britain.

That looks similar to mine.

Are these any good?

But an ar styled 9mm is just foolish when you can get something designed much better, like actual 9mm sub guns

I'd rather have a century faux uzi than a 9mm ar that might work

I like and am familiar with the ergos and controls of ARs.

MP5 mags > all

then get an MP5, desu.
>(((slap)))
>can charge the weapon while shouldered
>can use folding or telescoping stocks
>better magazines
>insane reliability
how can AR9s even compete?

Are you guys building these from kits or what? I'm liking what I see.

I have some money I wont to throw away on a stupid fun gun and I'm torn between a regular AR pistol or a 9mm one. Which is better?

If it's over 5 inches it will blow 9mm out of the water.

Get a 5.56 AR for intermediate ranges
.308 for hunting and longer ranges
and one of these for CQB
