I always wondered about the legality of some of the Russian special purpose rounds. Specifically the captured plunger rounds that don't allow the release of the gasses. Since they aren't a silencer and are just a subsonic bullet with a low sound profile would they be covered under the NFA or would they be open for regular sale?

Level IV is rated to stop 30 06 armor piercing ammo at point blank ranges. Something 3x slower certainly won't be able to. So either that was a level III plate, they lied, or both.

it's a round designed to bypass the 5 year wait for a rifled carbine - only smooth bore guns are allowed in the 1st 5 years. 366TKM can be used with paradox rifling or Lancaster elliptical rifling (pic related, right image), which are both legally smooth bore in Russia.
Also there is a minimal range limit to living areas when hunting, and rifled guns have a large limit, which really makes it bad in European densely populated part of the country
