First time to a gun shop

HK VP9 has perhaps the best feel grip wise, weight wise, etc. also makes sense to start with 9mm

700ish bucks but it felt miles better than the glocks the guy was trying to sell to me.

Opinions on the VP9

Skip it, $700 is *way* too much for a VP9.

You can order it online for substantially less. Hell, you can now order the p30, which formerly sold for ~$900, for less than your local shop is selling vp9s for.

Is it a good gun to get regardless?

Yes, with the caveat that the magazines and holsters are kinda expensive compared to similar competitors.

Yes, but spend the extra money for the version with tritium sights. They'll come perfect from the factory, no alignment required. I think that version is costs $50 more than the base model. You don't need a threaded barrel.

A couple other similar options to consider:

>Walther PPQ
>HK P30

CDNN had a good sale, but it ended yesterday. VP9s at $550, $600, and $650. They had two P30s for $550.

Get one, LE edition with night sights and extra mag, but not for over $550. I have one, great gun.

I really like mine.

Had a black one and then sold it. Missed the VP9 so much i bought another one a couple years later. Got a LE version though and at the time HK had a magazine rebate for 4 free mags.

I tried the Walther but it didn’t feel right

Also forgot to mention there was like two protesters outside it almost like those people outside abortion clinics.

Seriously look at a PPQ if you like the VP9

Nevermind. If you like giant poly pistols then maybe a P320?

Get the HK USP. Whether you overpay or not, it's going to outlast you.

It's a glock but more expensive.

so frustrating

>mfw I first held a P30
HK got the grips on the P30/VP9 sooo right

This, I think it’s called the law enforcement version. Comes with an extra magazine as well which is $50 on its own.

Yeah but how many people shoot enough rounds to see the difference. The USP trigger is makes it more difficult to shoot accurately, and the excess muzzle flip really is noticeable. No real reason to get one other than aesthetics and military larping

The ergos on the USP aren't even close. It's like with the VP9, P30 and HK45 that HK hired an ergo expert to unfuck them. Everything feels like a brick before and everything feels sexual after.

Can the usp meme die? It is an outdated gun that uses shitty fully polymer mags in 9mm (no one does this anymore). It has shit ergos, shit capacity, is big and clunky, and yet is somehow still more expensive than the rest of the HK pistol line.

Op just get a vp9, there are much better prices out there though

get a USP instead

>fully polymer mags
no

It's not a meme. Its clunky and the ergos are shit but you can't break em. Have you tried wearing gloves to protect yourself from the excellence of the USP?

The 9mm mags are not metal lined, they only have reinforced feed lips

Even Glock metal lines their mags
