Would any of y'all carry a series 70 1911?

Would any of y'all carry a series 70 1911?

I'm looking for a 1911doublestack as my hands are huge and I like capacity. I would like as a carry peice but do t want to pay for Remington garbage or hunt down a double stack colt.

I found RIA has a cheap and heavy doublestack but it is series 70

I wouldn't carry a 1911 in fuddy five period because I'm not geriatric.

For Open Carry, maybe? Like... in a shoulder holster or something. That said, I think grip safeties are a liability.

Nah. At that point, just go with the FNX, you're paying the same for a far superior product. The 1911 was designed to be single stack, and it shows in all double stack 1911 designs.
yes
Well I wouldn't carry it because I wear diapers either seeing as I'm a millenial.

Nope, I can already CC a USP40.
What's wrong with grip safeties?

There are many recorded instances of people being unable to actuate their grip safeties when they needed to fire. One guy, for instance, because his hands were injured in the shootout.

>posted as I clean my 9mm handgun

What are you gay?

Believe it or not, 1911's have been growing in popularity with young people and it has been killing .40 Soy&Wuss, because not only has .45 ACP soared in popularity, but now reliable 9MM 1911's exist at affordable prices.

--------------
Well OP, it looks like you are more interested in a 2011? If you want a double stack metal framed .45 ACP...I'd highly recommend you track down a CZ 97B.

Shoots like a 9MM but is 10 rounds of .45 ACP American Pride.

Then why the actual duck do you think hed be able to fire at all if he couldn't even palm the gun????

>jazz music stops
Thought about 2011s but I'm not going to forfeit $1,000 in the ecent of a self defense case.

there's one recorded instance and it's that one.

you only know about it because it was posted a while ago on Jow Forums.

and you've taken it from 'only one i could find' to 'many'.

>FNX is $500
Where where where

Well no, not that guy but OP, the clause that's "for instance" makes it separate from many.
But the grip and manual safety were ever an issue %90 of militaries and civilians would be fucked. It's just a non issue I thoroughly believe Glock made up to sell guns

Fucking... this

People have been discussing this since long before Jow Forums as a whole existed. It's not like the argument originated a few months ago on Jow Forums. Project more, would you?

Eh, 1,000 isn't that much when it comes to guns...it's when you are spending 2,000 bucks for a pistol, shotgun or rifle...is when you need to take a step back and evaluate if you are getting your money worth.

300-500 is poverty tier unless it's a .22lr

500-800 is entry level decent

1,000-1,500 is high end

2,000+ is name brand shit to flex on people.

Ok so I bought a Sig Scorpion 1911 and it came with a 16 pound spring which has caused me some FTF issues with very normal run of the mill 185gr fiocchi fmj

I bought a wolf precision 18 pound spring to fix this and reassembled my pistol but I hear the spring clacking against something like its hanging slightly. It doesn't really sound like its gliding or sliding against the inside of the walls or anything. Anyone know what could be causing this?

Also do I need to get a specific guide rod for this new spring? Its a round spring, not a flat one like my stock sig spring was

>Not justifying buying a mk23 by any means necessary.

M8, come now.

Yes fallout 2meme

Speak for yourself. I've got a Bachelors that I've barely started after 3 years out of HS. Taking in to consideration that I work full time and above minimum wage, what your saying is mind numbing
$700 for a poverty dpms is ludicrous in my book. The RIA doublestack fits my bill.
Still is having the firing pin block a must have our can I rely on the manual and grip safety as well as relying on the half cock to catch the hammer?

>but now reliable 9MM 1911's exist at affordable prices.
What's the point of a 9mm 1911 when the hi power has existed for almost the same amount of time?

Was the 10mm pistol based on the MK23?

They are nice guns and are still out there, but Browning stopped making them last year.

Suppose the next option would a CZ75

Either way though the hole point is that this is a big guy...for you.

Okay, why are you mad? I thought you said you didn't want to drop 1,000 USD because you said that was too much?

Forget the implications

I just need the answer on the firing pin safety.
Series 70 or 80

Attached: 1521444345254.png (518x585, 354K)

It was based off the USP, but they’re very similar.

Series 70
80 is a shit
Stop being a pussy.

The firing pin block is a necessity if you plan on dropping the gun muzzle first from five feet. The series 70 was considered not drop safe due to firing pin inertia, not the hammer falling off the sear when jolted. Half cock will prevent the hammer from reaching the firing pin if the sear isn't completely triggered.

I have no idea what the fuck series 70 is, but I've carried my single stack RIA 1911 before.
my normal summer carry gun has less capacity than it, even. I would carry it again without hesitation.

A 1911 going 1/4 terminal velocity is enough to set it off?

your little babby hand is enough to set it off lmoa
the earth hitting it is definitely able to

Ah so that is why it looks so retarded

RIA makes series 70's. Series 80's on the other hand have a firing pin block similar to a glock and a bitchload of other pistols. 70's lack that block.

There are series 70 1911s that made the CA roster therefore passed drop safety testing

It does need to impact muzzle down on a hard surface, but you can use a titanium firing pin if it bothers you. If you're going to be a trigger snob, the series 80 trigger is going to bother you.

But. But I do tho..

Did the Sig P320 pass?

No

I'd opt for a titanium firing pin and a strengthened firing pin spring for extra safety.

Custom bowie?

>carrying a gun that isn't drop safe
How about no

series 70 is what you want. fuck that trigger safety

yep

Ruger sr1911 is a series 70 and is drop safe due to the length of the firing pin.

Kek

>Soy'nWuss

It doesn't have the firing pin block, which makes it not drop safe.
