Is creedmoor common enough to justify a SHTF rifle?

Does the choice of bug in or bug out affect this at all?

Thanks Jow Forums!

Addendum: Barrel life. With stainless, if the barrel life short enough to void it as SHTF?

It'll just end up as accurate a 5.56 at distance once you shoot thr barrel out

what is it with 6.5 creedmoor and barrel life? What's the issue? Pressure? Don't we have magnum calibers? Never really heard much on barrel life with those.

shtf will never happen

I think it's generally assumed that if you can afford to shoot .338, cost isn't an issue.

Smaller bore = flamecutting in the throat concentrated on the smaller surface area = faster throat erosion

What is the average barrel life on a 6.5 CM?

ok, thanks. Makes sense then.

Between 2000 and 3000

What does a 1/2moa CM barrel open up to at 3k rounds? 3/4MOA?

With the exception of a super volcano or nuclear bombardment, bug in is pretty much the answer to everything.

Depends on your definition of SHTF.

For me, it's when an event such as a natural disaster or a riot has gotten to the point where I can no longer rely on the city's utilities AND when the emergency services in place are no longer willing or able to respond.

If even

Bob sled has a video, assuming it hasnt been axed, about his tikka rifle. Around 3k it would not shoot under 2moa. I dont know if anyone has tortured a 6.5 rifle to the point of keyholing, for science.

it is unlikely to happen in the lifespan of a given individual.

But over the course of history, it's happened more times than we'll ever know. And, it's going to happen again. I estimate in the next 150 years

.243 winchester, guaranteed to be in stock

hey link me this channel so i can archive it, if i haven't already, if you're worried about his shit being taken down.

Not that guy but thanks for doing that work

Fuck no.

What about 8mm Mauser?

Are you going to stockpile 10k rnds til you run across it again?

More like 3000...

When in your shtf fantasies will you have to shoot multiple thousands of rounds from a bolt action?

>8mm Mauser
>88 dubs

It is a great round but it just isn't popular anymore. You might as well get .30-06 in the US since they are sort of peers.

>shtf
Yes
>TEOTWAWKI
No

Also keep in mind that common ammunition will very likely be usable as a barter good if not currency. OTOH few people would be willing to trade you some life saving medicine for instance for a few hundred rounds of 6.5 that nobody else needs.

6.5 grendel > 6.5 credmoor

Not 6800...
