So I'm pretty uneducated on certain gun laws in my state. Can Jow Forums school me on any legal hoops I'd have to jump through in order to buy a Franchi SPAS-12 in Maine?

1. Have lots of money

Maine basically has no gun laws outside of federal ones. You'd have to have it shipped to a licensed gun store and then fill out paperwork and do a background check.
But you're not going to get your hands on one. SPAS-12s are really fucking rare. There's 1,850 in the country. You're going to pay $2000+ for one.
To clarify, they're literally no different legally than any other shotgun, just expensive.
That shouldn't be too big a problem desu
Thanks senpai
Good luck. I wish I could spend that much money for a SPAS.
Honestly it's not that I have a super good job or anything, just very few bills to pay and quite a bit of money saved up. Now all that's left is to actually find one that's decent quality.
I only ended up spending a little over $1500 on mine.
I know some user on here managed to find one for $900 since it had some sort of issue with it.
Is that a Tec9 with it as well?
I'm extremely jealous of this picture.
This. My bro bought one a few months back for like 1100. Amazing what you can buy online.
I found a cheap ass one on gun broker for $750 but something had to be wrong with it that wasn't immediately noticeable.
>Something had to be wrong with it.
The seller knows it was a POS, wanted it gone asap.
>tfw your dad worked for Jurassic Park and you got one free

easy as cake if you want the folding, if you want one with the normal fixed stock it's easier.
Yep, surprisingly enough I'm one of the lucky few that got a TEC-9 that actually works well and isn't a jam-o-matic.
The only problem I had with it was when the firing pin broke in it, after replacing it, I haven't had a single jam, FTF, FTE, etc.
Same goes for the SPAS-12, haven't had a single jam with it.
LAW-12 is not the same as the SPAS-12.
My bad, I suck dicks
Pls be in London.
sorry, new cuckifornian republic (WA)
>You're going to pay $2000+ for one.
And they're really kind of shitty.
But if you have to have that iconic gun from your favorite movie/vidya, you have to have it.
This.
Spas 12
Deagle brand deagle come to mind.
Also guns good for a Valkyrie cosplay is you REALLY like R6 Siege
How much did the Tec9 run you?
I mean the only operator you should cosplay is the lord himself
I actually got it after I took care of my Aunt's two cats for a week while she was on vacation.
Basically my Uncle was a "kitchentable FFL" and had quite the pre-ban collection (including several Norinco AK's and SKS's),
Unfortunately he passed away back in 2002 and most of the expensive guns in his collection were sold (Including the Norinco AK's and his Nickel-Plated Desert Eagle in .44 Magnum).
But even after he passed away, there were still some guns left in his safe this whole time since my Aunt didn't want to bother selling them since she thinks they're worthless,
including 2 TEC-9s (one of them was rusted pretty badly), 2 Cobray M11-9 MAC pistols, and 2 Norinco SKS's (one was bubba'd).
She basically told me that for taking care of her cats she would either give me $100, or I could have one of the "pistols" from my Uncle's safe,
and of course I chose the non-rusty TEC-9 and the spare factory mags he had laying around since technically the going rate of them right now is more than the Cobray pistol.
She also said that anytime I want I could buy the other guns from her for cheap, so I plan on rescuing the other guns left in there sometime soon.
Good on the factory mags. Really the reason the TEC-9 jams a lot is because most of the aftermarket mags are shit, and using factory mags they work without problems usually.
You lucky fucker
There was NO issues with it. He said it wouldnt cycle...gee bill are you trying to auto load low brass bird shot? Of course he was. New set of buffers and proper loads fucking thing runs flawless. It was a buyer and a pawn shop who didnt really know what they were looking at ...hell they could have part it out for more than I paid for it. Granted its a shooter but holy hell, give me 10 more cross bolt folders for 900 a pop, I'd take that all day long.
Barring some kind of faggot state shenanigans, there are no hoops, they're just shotguns.
They aren't imported or made anymore, they never made very huge amounts of them, and they're super famous, so expect to pay a couple thousand dollars on average, but nothing else stops you.
They're REALLY cool shotguns, but they're also not all that great. It's an autoloader which can be fired in pump mode, like the Benelli M3, but way chunkier and clunkier, the manual pump is stiff, as you have to fight the recoil spring, and the gun will refuse to cycle any light loads.
Conversely, when you buy one, you have to make sure to inspect the gun for its recoil buffer, which it will need for firing in semi-auto mode, or the bolt will batter and stretch the receiver slowly as you shoot it.
Finding spare parts for these, like the recoil buffer, used to be pretty bothersome, but some guys got together in some venture to make and sell replacement parts like these, so this isn't really an issue anymore.
The folding stock is the coolest fucking folding stock anyone has ever put on a shotgun, but on well used examples, they can be a bit rattly and loose, not giving you quite as stable support.
The safety lever on *some* of the guns have the potential of being defective, sometimes tripping the sear when you use it, so always be vigilant of that. An upgrade exists to replace it with a cross button safety that can not do this.
The SPAS12 isn't a gun you get because you think it would be a really good hunting gun or home defense gun, you get this gun because it's badass and a really neat and interesting collectible with very unique and striking looks.
Is it an Intratec or an Interdynamics? The early Interdynamics guns were a LOT nicer than Intratec guns ever were.
Protip, get a gun that isn't complete aids. SPAS12 has lots of meme potential but it's a horrible shotgun.
Nothing at all, maine is a fantastic state for guns, as long as you pass the background check and have fucktons of money you can have just about anything
Maybe he wants to blast US marines, huh
Every one knows the only reason to buy a SPAS is because you want a SPAS. And there is nothing wrong with that.
Yo thank you that actually helps so much
Really appreciate it
This
Every shotgun is a meme shotgun. Might as well get the meme-est.
With all seriousness man, you could save a loottt of money if you just buy a good Mossberg or Remington.
That makes a lot of sense, but part of the meme is the money
If you havent found the project guy by now...
For the same or less money you can get an actual good shotgun like a Benelli m1/m2/m3/m4, Beretta 1301, etc.
Adding to my statement, the m4 and m3 are their own memes. The m3 was in counterstrike. M4 has been in almost every vidya game about military shit, ever.
*blocks your path
How much of a meme is a Vepr12? Seems the Saiga stole most of its thunder
>$2000+
I have two, both top folders with original hook included. One lever safety, one crossbolt safety.
1200 and 1300 respectively, within the past three years.
Other way around. Saiga was king of the hill until Veprs came around and shat all over it. They're fantastic.
It's like the same gun but both are banned from import. You can just get the chicom clones instead though and they're pretty cheap
Don't. Those are junk.
I had one and it was a piece of shit. The action bars on the pump always froze up or caused a jam so I left it in semi-auto. That ghost ring sight is like a metal brick sitting on the barrel. Nothing about them is illegal, they are not automatic and have normal barrel lengths. But save yourself $1700 and get a Maverick 88 security combo, it shoots better and the bead sight actually works if you try to shoot something more than 15 feet away.
Where the fuck are you finding these prices?
One was gunbroker, one was a local shop.
People use them as a base gun to mod
It's funny to me though because now that they're not available, people seem to forget how shitty the saiga 12s were
The internet, nigger.
