.224 Valkyrie

So Jow Forums,
I bought one of these shits, now I need some suggestions, since it's technically a "recon rifle" I have not a fucking clue as to what exactly that means, guide me on my journey

Suggestions for what you imbecile
What do you want out of this rifle

Well, for a easy to use functional set up, preferably.

Go to the range and shoot it.

Valid point, I'm doing that tomorrow, however I want/need suggestions, from my understanding it will be a waste to put a reddot on it, however I can't afford a high end scope for it, what would you suggest?

Put some decent glass on it, go kill some animals or whatever.

>can only shoot federal ammunition
is this hickok45's favorite gun?

I've never met a Primary Arms optic I didn't like. I've got one of their 1-6, 2 of their T1 Micro knockoffs, and a 5x fixecd.

Their mounts aren't always great but the rest is way more bang for the buck than you'd expect.

why did you buy a rifle that you don't know how to use, don't know what its for, and can't afford to do the things its designed to do?
u mite b a retard.

Recon rifles in Planetside 2 are pretty shit. I don't know why they would call it that.

>u mite b a retard

>.224 Valkyrie

Retard status confirmed

Buy the cheapest possible red dot. I mean, don’t even spend $30. It’ll get you to the range.

This august, buy a good scope.

Mk.12 lookalike in .224 valk

>since it's technically a "recon rifle" I have not a fucking clue as to what exactly that means
It means through a generic 3-9 scope on there and be all HURR DURR MUH HALF MOA ACCURRRACY.

Why did you buy it if you dont know what you want to do with it?

Given that literally the only reason to own this cartridge is supposed long range ballistics with very long .22 bullets, why would you buy this for anything else?

You're a fucking moron if you didn't buy it for that purpose, because the cartridge isn't going to last and you'll be stuck with a useless niche gun, since its obvious you don't reload.

Hate to say it OP but your a retard.
.224 valkryie is a meme round
.300 blackout is also a meme but in a SBR its half way there to being a real bullet
Stick to 5.56 or 7.62 NATO its tried and true. They're both never going anywhere

What's the twist rate?

1/7 twist 18"

... You mean like the same caliber as the .223/5.56?

Really nigga.

300 BLK is pretty much the only version of an AR that doesn't suck out of a 10.5 or shorter. SBR 5.56 ballistics are garbage.

Will view options as soon as possible!

See

where did I mention .224 Valkyrie?
I said he was a dumbass for investing in something he couldn't maintain, and didn't know a thing about.
Regardless of caliber hes a fucking moron.

Would you spend all your money on a home, if you couldn't afford the mortgage, and didn't have an income?

Would you buy a car if you couldn't afford to fill its gas tank let alone the maintenance?

But with a crazy efficient ballistic coefficient... It's primarily a long range cartridge and maybe pumping out 75gr stuff faster than mk262 at lower pressure...

Never mind... I misunderstood your comment...

No, no you didn't

5.56mm is a crap round.

5.56 is a perfectly good round but it's not the best at anything.

What is is however is a cheap, light, available, generally useful round that can be very effective at the right role for a given projectile weight.

Whats wrong with wanting a little extra push?

>taking out a mortgage

Get a load of this retard

You cannot get mortgage without an income?
You cannot get a job to get your mortgage without a car?
You cannot get to work to afford the car to afford the mortgage without gas...

I get your point, your analogy sucks ass though. I bought the rifle to build on, I know the capability but I want to build it for both aesthetics and functionality.

follow up... It's a project, I just wanted input is all.

Yes? The same caliber as pretty much every other 22 in the world. This is more or less just a 6.8SPC necked to 22.

You know 6.8, the cartridge that lost the special snowflake AR battle to 6.5 grendel.

Hey leave OP alone. Some people want to shoot 22-250 out of an AR.

Except all the factory ammo listed on DOC GKR list.

Never going anywhere? They will enjoy decent longevity, but they haven't even been around a century yet, for fuck's sake. History didn't start in your lifetime, son.

>google .224 valkryie
>first page is nothing but hard dicksucking from gunblogs for how awesome this cartridge is

Jesus please rise again and remove the ARfags from the temple

Its a great cartridge.
90gr and 95gr SMKs are fantastic projectiles, really wish they'd come out with a heavier TMK.

Peanut butter and Peep niggers are too dumb to understand the nuances of a cartridge like .224 Valk.

It's a gimped cartridge because it was made to fit the GAY-R. Also a barrel burner.

Too busy basking in the superiority of 6.5 creedmoor, especially with the 147gr eld

>5.56 is a meme round, stick to .30-06 it's tried and true

>b-b-b-but its gimped
Near every cartridge has some dimensional constraint or another. This is a complete bullshit point that only low IQ shit brained children bring up. It means absolutely nothing.
The cartridge lets you shoot out to longer ranges than a lot of larger cartridges before going transonic, and does so with less recoil to boot, all from the AR15 lower that millions of people already own.

>muh barrel burner!
Depends entirely on the load, and how fast you're pulling the trigger, sherlock.
A 90gr SMK sitting atop 22gr of Accurate 2200 isn't producing any more heat than a heavy 5.56 load. You aren't going to be bump firing magazine after magazine of match ammo either.

Its almost like you're a complete fucking idiot that has never shot anything ever. Fucking Peeps.

>namecalling
>shilling
>it shoots heavier bullets farther than 5.56 but doesn't produce any more heat than 5.56

more like Team Salty.

Holy fuck you bought a full size rifle for what? It's 50cpr for the cheapest stuff. What ever you're using it for, the 223 would have been far better
