Someone told me the M1 garand could be converted to full auto. Could you do this by filing down the sear? Would this be a good idea?

Probably not
key ring and a shoe string
Nice try, ATF
yes. this is why we need to ban ALL ww2 assault rifles.
PING PING PING PING PING
Probably not to what? Filing down the sear or good idea?
Wrong. You have to file down the firing pin. That's what my old man told me.
sure.
nice try, atf.
sauce?
i may be wrong but im pretty sure this is from amazon
you use a shoelace. Set up where elasticity in it and a touch of slack pulls the trigger as the bolt handle goes into battery.
You guys really need to try harder.
it's the website swimoutlet and her name is Claire
It's not Amazon. I can't remember the name of the site, but it's some bullshit clothing site, they have a bunch of these.
It can be. The BATF issued an official ruling on it.
A shoe string will do it
Source: Get of my property
Whats going on in here.
Does that have any actual effect on anything? I know they banned all new open bolt weapons for that reason.
Do you have a dog?
>I know they banned all new open bolt weapons for that reason.
False. It was only the tec9 and mac10/11. All that happens is through additional bureaucratic tyranny they refuse to approve new open bolt designs for sale.
Nothing stops you from making your own open bolt gun.
for "research" and an "example" along with the ruling by the ATF
Why yes. I have a nice black lab.
I'm sorry for your lost. RIP DOGGO
It's called a BM59
Supposedly yeah, it was part of a military experiment. However the fuckers shot at around 950 rounds per minute with 30-06 so definitely a bad idea unless you hate your body
That explains it. My grandfather told me the modified M1s were faster than the carbine and the north korean burp gun. Not sure why you would want something that fast if you only have 8 bullets.
It was an unintended side effect of the action, the bolt moved such a short distance that a high cyclic rate was inevitable
>runaway
Just JB weld the firing pin forward, drop the bolt, and hang on.
Not that I know of, there is a field filling trick that lets you load a 9th round that was banned by military regulation. If you don't have something like a trip sear component inherent to the rifle design the hammer "follows" the bolt and doses nothing.
Just pull the trigger 8 times per second, that's all you need to convert it. If you can't do that, you don't deserve a Garand.
thats a mini 14
