What team is Jow Forums

Anyone know anything specific about the national Guards REP 63 enlistment option? From what I've read so far it's like the AD's 18x but if anyone has been through it or knows more about it I'd like to hear about it.

>I would be willing to try for NFO if aviator doesn't look like it's gonna pan out.
the pilot/nfo board has changed. you're in consideration for both pilot and nfo, or nfo only. there's no pilot only, so when you apply, you could be selected as either pilot or nfo. it's good you're prepared for the possibility of nfo upfront.
>My biggest concern though is that I'll love being a flyer but hate being an officer. One of the biggest complaints I hear from pilots who have been in more than a few years is that they wish they spent more time flying than at the desk doing admin shit.
you could always go for the air force, since i hear they get a lot more flying time (though i personally have no experience with the air force side of things). as for the desk job stuff, you're gonna get a shore tour no matter what. for what it's worth, being an aviator is much, much better than being a swo. the difference between the two is aviators deal with the dumb shit junior officers do, and the SWOs with dumb junior officers AND dumb enlisted.

>Yes goyim, join the military and fight for israeli's interests!

Cool, thanks for the input. I'll definitely keep all that in mind, but I'll also definitely keep looking to flying for the Army as well. The appeal of warrant officer life is pretty strong.

For anyone else reading, I'd be really interested to hear any insight/experiences with WOFT.

>yes faggot, post the same shit in every thread
>hahaha xDDD got em

Just signed as CTI in the Navy, what am I in for?

General consensus seems to be that school drags ass, but once you're past that there are a lot of opportunities for deploying to ships, aircrew, as well as directly with special warfare guys as a TIO. Post-mil options seem good as well, assuming you didn't get a shit language like Portuguese.

What team wants some explosions?

Can I follow a reasonable lifting program (4 days a week, 1 hour a day) if I go infantry or will the field kill all my gains

Maybe I want to join the Coast Guard and help people.

Maybe you're just a giant memeing fag

So how do you know when you're ready to go to SFAS?

how is your fitness and land nav?

Go the Appalachian mountains and ruck 40 miles to the top of Mozark. Then ruck 10 miles after that.

All seriousness when you've maxed the APFT, developed a solid muscular frame, and gotten good at getting around with a compass. Check out the SFAS study for ruck march times that will statistically give you the highest chance of passing. candidates with a 54 min or less for a 4 mile ruck I think had somewhere around an 80% chance of passing. Last 20% is not being a bitch, taking care of your feet, and training your body well to avoid injury during the many different strenuous movements you will do.

If I go 35 series what are my chances of seeing combat? I didn't mind the "pog" banter at first, but I'm starting to think it would suck to no at least be in a dangerous area if I get deployed.

pretty low, FOBs get hit with mortars and rockets occasionally so it's not 100% safe

Any enlisted go gold here? Im an e5 in the airforce thinking about applying to the academy and have some questions, both about the school and officer life in general.

What's the best MOS in the army in terms of unlikelyhood of seeing combat + decent and consistent (relative) working hours? Was thinking 35 series in general

months of back to back field will kill your gains

why not go air force?

35F.

The other ones like 35p/n sometimes have irregular hours when doing nsa type work. 35m sucks when not deployed, so dont do that. 35F is admin assistant with a top secret clearance. 8-3pm type of job.

Which branch is the most STEM oriented? I have a raging hard on for STEM subjects, but I also want to be involved in combat.

If I'm an American with a college degree from a foreign university (UK) do I still qualify for officer status?

Several universities in the UK (including mine) award Masters degrees instead of bachelor's degrees (it's the custom for places founded before about 1600). It's still a fully accredited undergraduate degree program, though. Is this acceptable?

Attached: windriverlake.jpg (1818x1228, 1.17M)

It's still a university degree you should be fine

Any britmil guides?

Think I could make it into the aus army with minor motor tourettes?

What do you mean dude?

I'm a britfag and I wanna join the British military. What I gotta do.

google "britain army recruiter" and go from there?

Yeah but I want some actual military people to tell me about it rather than read some "Join the army we except gays and muslims" tripe. I want honest answers not jargon.

Accept*

ask a more specific question then

Alright, I'm interesting in becoming an officer, however I'm an Irish citizen, so certain officer roles are off limits to me. What would it take for me to become an officer in the Royal Irish Regiment, and do I have to renounce my Irish citizenship for other roles or can I have dual citizenship instead. (Roles like a Royal Marines Officer)

Plan:
>Talk to recruiter and get basic slot for reserves
>Graduate high school in a few months
>go to basic in fall
>go to AIT for ??? in spring
>start college fall 2019 (year late)
>do ROTC, take up leadership positions bc I will have more experience than others
>stay in reserves through college
>graduate and commission for a career into ??? in the Army
So for me what MOS is best?

I'm looking for a MOS where I am in the shit but am also not just an infantryman. Civil Affairs appealed to me because I am good with people and enjoy working with people but I feel like Civil Affairs never gets to experience any action.

For some background I am:
>about to be fresh out of high school
>eagle scout
>98 GT asvab score but I can raise it if I learn more about cars
>great physical shape: 6'4 190 lean muscular like the army likes em
>bad swimmer

I was heavily considering special forces but the only thing holding me back is my swimming and I still need an MOS to lead into it. Maybe I'll just become an MP, who knows.

What are yalls thoughts on this plan? Can you help me find an MOS that would suit me? Thank you in advance.

Attached: 1345151.png (800x800, 14K)

>98 GT

Attached: 1506976579634.png (645x729, 40K)

fuck uh i meant asvab im sorry i dont know terms im sorry

i promise im smart

>MP

never go MP. And don't bother going reserves, it would only screw up your ROTC. Go to uni, get ROTC, apply for a intel or infantry job on your wishlist, get promoted to PL, put in an SF packet, pass the Q course, done.

so the stipend and building up retirement doesn't make it worth it to do reserves or NG in college?

If a law is unconstitutional it is null and void.

Will I actually get tied down and beat up my first day at my unit

yes, and they will perform a mandatory penis inspection after basic. if you fail you become the platoon trap

You know that you're not the final arbiter of what is or isn't constitutional, right?

did he imply he was?

>Platoon trap
Stop spreading misinformation. It's if you are less than 5'8 they'll send you to the manlet pit where they force-feed you soy until you become the platoon trap.

What’s life in A school at NAS Pensacola?

shut up non serve, they only make all manlets who try to pass RASP or SFAS into platoon traps. all the other ones get to be ammo boys and pack mules for the real soldiers.

Can someone elaborate on this? I thought that getting basic training and AIT out of the way before college, building up retirement years, and getting the stipend would be nice but is there something I'm missing? Why shouldn't I do reserves + ROTC in college?

Attached: Reply of Cossacks.jpg (3000x1774, 2.44M)

Reserves to active is really hard to do IIRC, even when commissioning.

So for the job I want there's a $15,000 signing bonus according to the army's website and also a $16,000 quick ship bonus.

Are these just traps to lure you in or do you actually get them?

They're heavily taxed. Some people who signed during the Surge got letters asking for the money back ten years later.
These days you should be okay.

You get like half. Plus you could end up having to repay it.

>They're heavily taxed
not true
>Some people who signed during the Surge got letters asking for the money back ten years later.
That isnt what happened youre misrepresenting a story you dont understand.
>creme
not suprised youre fucking retarded.
>You get like half
"no"

idk what you're on about but I got 3400 of my 5k bonus.

That isnt "heavily taxed", thats just taxed same as anything else.

>lose almost a quarter of your money
>not heavily taxed

that normal you idiot. Heavy implies more than normal. It certianly isnt fucknig half like that other idiot said.

>yes goy its normal to let the government take 30% of your income

Unfortunately yes, normal doesnt equal good you dumb faggot.

unironically, yes. vote for lower taxes if that bugs you. also look forward to your tax return. welcome to adulthood.

How new are you to politics?

what does this mean

at the exact same time 2 grown ups embarrassed a little boy
Youre right crying about israel and calling people goys on Jow Forums is a far better solution

Well gee, sorry for using "heavily" in a way you didn't like. The guy wanted to know if you got to keep your bonuses and I let him know you don't get to keep all of your bonuses.
>That isnt what happened

What's the whitest branch of the military? The coast guard?

The Marines only let 100% pure white Americans in.

recruiters mistakenly giving out bonuses is definitely not the same as regular taxation. one is a bureaucratic error being corrected ten years down the road, and the other is how the taxation system works. words mean things, so correct yourself and move on with your life.

Are you autistic? You said guys never got asked for their bonuses back when they definitely did. Learn to read sometime.

I watched jarhead and the hazing parts scared me, is that actually how new privates are treated?

the military might not be for you dude

That guy who responded to you wasnt me but hes right, and that isnt what i said you absolute moron.

Dont plan to go active if you start out as reserves. Its hard as shit, and by hard as shit, i mean its a waiting game of 1-2 years for even critical officer jobs.

Dont go MP unless youre going active and dont have a degree to go CID right out of the gate.

Dont join the military to see action, thats a stupid reason. Just do civil affairs.

Special forces doesnt need a mos to lead into it, you just join as special forces. If you really want to do it, you gotta do NG either 19th or 20th group which is utah or kentucky pretty much.

Have you considered going pilot? Even in reserves, they get so many active opportunities, worrying about switching to active isnt an issue.

If i was in your position, with the goal of going officer and being right out of highschool, I would go in enlisted active duty as 35F, right at AIT, put in a packet for West point, and get pulled straight out of AIT and sent to academy.

Reason for going 35F, is just cause in case shit goes down, I can get into RASP, or wait until I hit E4, and switch to 35L. But the academy thing is pretty much a for sure thing if you apply for it as an intel MOS.

>350F reservist here.

White Americans include hispanic/latino, just so you know.

Idk I’m not worried about boot camp and combat but I don’t like the idea of being branded

Did you actually watch the movie?

Yea I guess it’s more like the social pressure. Like I’m worried everyone will hate me or i won’t make friends

You're not gonna get branded. You'll fit in fine as long as you get your job done, don't be a blue falcon, and know how to take bantz.

I want to creme inside megumin

If I went through meps and everything last year but didn't enlist, will I go through meps again and retake the asvab if I attempt to enlist again?

Why did you not enlist?

Because I did not want to serve the global Zionist agenda and fight for Israel

Attached: 1519325611973.jpg (307x391, 33K)

Mom got very sick, and girlfriend at the time kept bitching at me not to go through with it. Moved back in with mom for a while to help her

Well if you want to avoid that then don't join the IDF, and if you would like to directly oppose Isreal you could join Hamas, I've heard they are always looking for new recruits. But I doubt you'll ever do anything but shitpost like a little bitch.

I know that feel bro, I've put off enlisting until now at age 25 because of my parents health, anyway you'll have to go through MEPS again but probably will not have to retake the ASVAB.

>af e5
>eligible for the academy

Maybe if you joined at 17 as an e3, had a very short OJT, stayed out of trouble during your TIS/TIG for e4, test and passed for staff on the first try, and pinned on early, I would pretend to believe you were eligible. My roommate and I were talked into applying for the academy when we got to our first duty station. I was already too old and he was turning 22. He had to get all types of waivers to get in. The academy is for people in their late teens; they like them naive and impressionable.

>tl;dr: you're probably too old

The af is doing much recruiting anyway, especially for officers. If you want in, you need to at least be an engineer, preferably one with a masters.

How true is it that the women in the military are huge sluts?

Well i just turned 23 so i guess i am too old. I did make staff super quick.

Very

All women in and around the military are sluts. Military women have all had trains run on them, military wives all cheat, etc

Yeah I made staff on the first attempt too. The af officer corps is an exclusive club. If you want to be treated like an adult, and you have a degree, consider a fed civilian job for the DoD.

It's an unfortunate truth, and something you don't want to find out the hard way.
