45-70

That cowboy feel and aesthetic

Heck, I like bolt actions simply because of that sniper feel

if you’ve ever shot a levergat you’d know they’re incredibly fun to plink with

yeehaw motherfucker

Literally the best gun you could ever own. Everyone should have at least 3 of them

I don't see many pistol caliber carbines chambered in magnum revolver rounds outside of lever actions.

This, 1895 master race.

Being a faster manual action than bolt guns. Can fire off all 5 rounds in my Savage 99 quicker than I can any other bolt gun.

Looking sick af

killing choco faggots

Want a Henry 357 for something in between 22 and rifle rounds. Are the fancier finishes worth the extra money? I dont want to worry about scratching it up and I gotta admit the Silver one is sexy.

They are manually cycled and more reliable, but almost as fast a semi-auto when taking the time to aim. With practice a bolt-gun is allegedly only a little slower, but the levergun is still a piece of Americana. It's a cultural touchstone and honestly still pretty damn good at what it was designed for.

My 30-30 is the most fun gun I own by a loooong shot.

me pretending to be a cowboy

Look at you finances and if it's not too expensive and you really care about it, go for it. Just promise to shoot it regularly. Nothing sadder than a nice gun that just sits in the safe. Well maybe dead children, maybe.

faster shots on target. try rapid firing a bolt gun vs a lever and see which is faster

Ruger has boltguns in .357 and .44, but they're pricey for what they are.

Not everything needs to be high speed low drag so you can operate operationally before you homosex homosexually.

Pimp status.

How else are you going to have the aesthetic godliness of a saddle ring?

Being awesome, lever guns are fun as fuck. Also great for hunting, and make a capable defensive rifle.

debating on buying a henry golden boy

One with a loading gate.

Fun, style, americana, nostalgia, hunting, defense in cucked states/countries, ammo-commonality with your revolver, larping, they're more publicly acceptable i.e. having one in your truck is less "scary" or litigiously volatile than an AK in your trunk.

They're good for deer, coyotes, hogs, and people that aren't shooting back with a modern rifle.

Did I mention fun?

They'll probably the last category of firearm to be banned/legislated on.

Buy a Rossi or a Marlin instead

Loading gate, bruh

>They'll probably the last category of firearm to be banned/legislated on.

More so than boltguns?

Bolt guns can be made out to be "stealthy sniper weapons for murdering from a mile away."

I think levers have the traits to resist legislation. Most normies/libs don't ever think about them, they're manual-action, fixed-magazine, low-ish capacity, not chambered in "military" rounds.

It'll be levers, pumps, and single-shots that the law leaves alone the longest. See Australia.

That's not how you spell sniper rifles

Nah, any semiauto will do the job far better.
Face it, now it's just good enough to play cowboy and nothing more.

she has really big hands

Are there any AR's in 45-70? Cause I'm thinking of getting a levergat chambered in that but I think it'd be cool to have an AR with a massive round like that. I know they got .50 Beowulf but I dunno how expensive ammo is.

It's an exceptionally robust and reliable, mechanically driven action. Bolt guns can be more accurate, but are more prone to failures from wear and bad weather/environment. Semi-autos need some cleaning every few hundred rounds, and are more prone to catastrophic failures from squibs and bad ammo.

A lever gun isn't as accurate as a bolt, nor can it hold as much as a standard semi auto, but they're basically indestructible unless you obstruct the bore with something that doesn't want to move.

There's .458 SOCOM

Trash round. Built 2 ARs in .458, you're better off just getting a Saiga 12 or VEPR with slugs and a paradox choke.

Using semi autos on horseback is a great idea! But wait - oh, that's right, riding a horse is like riding a quad with pogo sticks for wheels and I could be spending more time returning fire if I just carry more guns instead of fumbling around trying to fit magazines in tiny ass magwells and shoving empties in my pockets so I don't scatter them all over a quarter mile stretch of land that I'm going to have to return to in order to collect them all so my enemies won't use my own magazines against me in later battles.

pump is banned in australia

>Bolt guns can be more accurate, but are more prone to failures from wear and bad weather/environment.

Can you explain further on wear? I always under the impression that, after single-shot rifles, boltguns were THE most reliable type of firearm action.

Pretending Im Walt Longmire...

fun

Being a true fucking badass

same thing as revolvers, fun.
I love my sks, but levers are just incomparable to anything, even other manually operated actions.
its like the difference between a manual and auto transmission, sure its not as practical and is beat out in efficiency by newer stuff, but its a ton of fun.

I like mine in winter. Its like have a winter trigger for the action.

>black powder fudd calibers
>literally only used anymore for the USCG

Levers are for fudds

youtu.be/E8OsYE8kiqg

Fudds like lever or bolt guns.

But lever guns do not make one a fudd.

Modern lever guns made of modern steel can handle more pressure than the old black powder .45-70 loads. Typical modern heavy .45-70 loads run a 405 grain jacketed flatnosed bullet out of a 20 inch barrel at 2000 fps for 3597 ft lbs of muzzle energy.

Bought the brass .357 mag henry. Totally worth the ~$800, love the old timey aesthetic, and scratches only add to it

Old ones are chambered in genuinely useful cartridges like .25-20 WCF
