You are a coco-nigger, there is no mind to change.

its not a Dragunov

As a chocolate monkey I don't think you have the IQ for abstract thinking.

The AR-10B is more accurate, lighter, has a more manageable recoil impulse, better reliability and a ridiculously huge aftermarket.

pick one

How difficult or easy is it to field strip and clean one of these?
if you get peanutbutter in it
>imbel receivers are 1k now
Is it time to fall for the DSA meme?

>lighter
Objectively lighter with comparable barrel length/profile, barring covering it with tacticool shit.
>more manageable recoil
Less reciprocating mass, longer buffer, center of reciprocating mass is in-line with the barrel and the stock
>reliability
YMMV, but it doesn't even have a dust cover by default.

How can a rifle once so ubiquitous be so hard to find in the US? Especially considering that most built were semi auto only? Apparently I missed the FAL train because all I could find when interested in buying one a couple years ago was DSA, overpriced used guns or incomplete kits. I've heard nothing but negative things about DSA's customer service and rifle quality, I was unwilling to pay $2K+ for some used gun of unknown quality/condition, and I lack the knowledge and tools to assemble a kit. I ended up going the AUG route instead, but I've always lusted after the FAL from afar.

>lighter and more manageable recoil
you can't do both
FAL is one of the smoothest shooting guns for its size

>needs a dust cover
stop getting your gun filthy, then

>Canadian Fed destroyed most of the remaining C1's
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

As for popularity in the US, blame the shifty politics that got the M14 adopted.

>center of reciprocating mass is in-line with the barrel and the stock
this is also the case for the FAL btw

But the vector of force is at an angle because of the tail on the bolt carrier.

Recoil IMPULSE is not just a function of the muzzle energy and rifle weight, user.

Is the FAL roller delayed blowback ala the g3?

lurk more cocklate

Short stroke piston.

No, that would be the Stgw 57.

>most built were semi auto only
but thats completely wrong

what about the FNC?

OK

Tipping bolt locking mechanism does not engage in a consistent fashion, limiting the accuracy potential. This allows it to work as a battle rifle, but struggle to make the jump to a DMR role which contemporary BRs could do much more easily (G3 and M14 in particular).

The receiver functions as a locking surface instead of locking the bolt head to a barrel extension. This means the receiver has to be made of heavy high-grade steel and painstakingly machined to the final form. Although this was the standard way to build rifles at the time, It's an expensive, heavy and inefficient method today now that AR-10/15/18 based rifles are the standard. It's also not as accurate.

Struggled with sand/dust in Israeli service. Sand cuts on the side of the bolt helped, but never did fully correct the issue.

Balance tends to be front-heavy.

Can take side-folding stock but that's even heavier.

Overall, it's not a bad rifle. But it is demonstrably outclassed by more modern BRs like the SCAR and various AR-10s. Arguably the G3 and M14 were better since they were both more accurate and were more adaptable to a DMR role, allowing both to have an extended service life. Meanwhile FALs are still in use, but pretty much only in the BR role.

Where can I find one of these for sale that won't beat itself to death?

Why would I lie and try to make you think otherwise? Ignore these patriotic Americans and their M4's, it's nothing but propaganda.

A copy of CETME.
Sure pal

The most aesthetic battle rifle ever made. Get a bit of a chub looking at them tbqh. Managable rifles for their size, too, although I wouldnt want to fire one full auto (only shot the L1A1).

Uhhh yeah you can user. Weight isn't the only factor absorbing felt recoil

Yes

I will not challege you, however your FAL is painted wrong. front sight, muzzle break and bolt are not to be painted. It also looks a bit too bright no?
