Would enlisting interfere with my education? Which branch do you prefer?
Is it possible to enlist in the US armed forces as a full time student?

Sure it's possible, but yes, it would interfere. One of my troops is going to school full time and basically has no life outside of work and school.
Post in the military enlistment general, faggot.
I've been told a degree does have the potential to increase starting pay. Should I enlist after I've completed school?
My bad faggot, didn't see this thread beforehand.
The Navy has the NUPOC Program where they recruit you as a student and pay you as an E5 while you get your degree. Other Branches might have similar programs.
Bumping for interest. I'm in college presently, but I plan to join the airforce. Should I enlist before or after college?
Kinda, and you don't even need the degree. If you have so many credits (I forget how many exactly), you can get a contract to start as an E3. You have to discuss this with your recruiter and get it on your contract though, this part's important.
This program is very interesting. Right up my alley too (Physics Student). If anyone knows of any similar programs, please inform me.
I read 15, which is about five-ish classes, or one full semester. I'm well above that, personally, and I know I'll score well on ASVAB.
It's only for Nukes though. Check out the nukeworker.com forums if you want to know more. Being a Navy Nuke isn't for everyone, it kinda sucks but if you need the money it might be an option.
>Being a Navy Nuke isn't for everyone
Under statement of the century. You have to be a special kind of weirdo to be a nuke and not hate your life choices.
die homo
yeah you can but be prepared to treat it as a second job. I have a few soldiers who go to school full time and their day is filled from the time they wake to the time they knock out with work. up at 0445 and to bed at 1100. they are miserable but I guess itll be worth it in the long run
I am going to school when not on duty, can confirm no life otuside of duty and school. also there are severla programs that willissue either permisive orders, or allow you to go to school as your duty. the coast guard has something called CSPI that sends you to boot camp, then you go back to college for a few yars, then you go to OCS once you finish a degree. the other branches have programs for specific officer routes where you get orders to a university
>up at 0445 and to bed at 1100. they are miserable but I guess itll be worth it in the long run
im going for a stem degree, so my day starts at 5 and I go to bed at 1 am every day
also
>tfw somehow ended up on the deans list and invited to join honor society
It will absolutely interfere with your education--just like any other full-time job. I DO NOT recommend trying to do both at the same time. Either go to college and do ROTC, or enlist and go to college on the GI Bill after you're done.
>not getting a POG desk job specifically to get a degree
>special kind of weirdo

What did he mean by this?
lmao when the info war bgm sounds.
What are the advantages of being an officer instead? Are the enlisted simply pawns of the officers? Forgive my ignorance, I am not familiar with how the Armed Forces operates.
if you idiots get the degree and enlist instead of commissioning, i'm going to find you and smack you both in the feminine faggy crotch you clearly have.
>become officer
>get moneys
>if enlisted and fuck up
get peepee stepped on and yelled at
>if officer and fuck up
get fired
National Guard or Reservists can definitely attend school full time
I've read of it (I think), but I thought that only largely applied to 4 year degrees.
This is my life, I'm not in the military though, Im just an skilled professional. Its tough because I live a super comfy life otherwise, but I just cant stop learning. It's impossible to have a social life. But people generally suck anyways, bunch of rude, over-rushing, non-thoughtful, narcissistic, uninteresting fagots tbqh.
Very motivating to think people are up early, crushing it just like I am. Thank you sir.
Pretty much this.
Pretty much all branches of the military won't send graduates to OTS unless you've got either a super competitive GPA or STEM degree, or are prior enlisted.
Sorry everyone. I really hate to be the bearer of shitty news, but this isn't 2014 anymore, we're not pressed for bodies and even on the enlisted side I have to be picky about who I take.
t. recruiter
Recruiting picked up in 2014? I figured it was the opposite.
