Consider installing mods on insurgency. The steam workshop has some cool shit. Fallout new vegas
Bentley Russell
Playing a shotgun only playthrough of STALKER: SoC right now. Using 3 Moonlight artifacts to ensure I can sprint forever turning this playthrough into QUAKE 5: Prypiat Edition. Zooming through the Military Warehouses shitting on Freedumbs has never been so fun.
forgot that one in the list.. i reinstalled it for the first time in like 3 years a few weeks ago. played 10 minutes, then started looking for a mod list from Jow Forums. Got one, installed Nexus, loaded 48 mods, game didn't start, i was too lazy to find out what exact mod was responsible, deinstalled the whole mess and played another round of RS2.
thx, never tried one of those
also thx

I have a lot of fun playing Heroes and Generals. Decent WW2 fps, with RTS elements. Basically it's like a WW2 battlefield game, with planes, tanks, paratroopers, recon, and infantry all in one battle.
Jackson Baker
>Wargame series >Receiver >Jagged Alliance 2 w/ 1.13 mod >7.62 High Caliber w/ Blue Sun mod >Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead >Escape from Tarkov (early access) >Neo Scavenger
Ayden James
>tfw highly unlikely FC5 will ever get realism mods like FC3 Still looks fun though
Jaxson Scott
Early game is great and would welcome something more realistic.
Late game makes you into an overpowered beast that chews through everything yet keeps getting captured by the bad guy because reasons.
After a while flying in your helicopter taking out an entire base and then mopping up the rest with a sniper rifle, grenade launcher, and m60 feels boring.
Driving around Falls End at the start with just a pistol and rifle was a great experience.
Elijah Brown
I've had a lot of fun with the Combat Mission series. Can either be played turn based or real time and covers WW2 with Normandy, Italy, Battle of the Bulge & Operation Bagration in various games.
It also covers modern day conflicts with "theoretical" wars in Ukraine and Syria.
I do and I dont. Its still fun for what it is, but in comparison with newer titles it shows its age. Id like to see them mix FC2s jamming and stuff with the newer Far Crys gameplay.
Gets some hate around here, but I'm a fan of Ghost Recon: Wildlands. It has a huge selection of weapons which are all reasonably effective, just with some being better for certain roles, so you can play how you want. And the map has a huge range of environments, from jungles to deserts and urban areas.
Charles Collins
I've been playing a lot of theHunter lately. It doesn't have any branded firearms but you do have to account for bullet drop over distance, and the xray view of your collected kills is cool cause you should and for heart and lung shots and you can examine your shots. Plus you can just wander innawoods for hours and not see the same place twice.
Bentley Cox
It's the flawed masterpiece that really makes you ponder what might have been. Fighting innabush was fantastic, but just the enemies insta-respawning made it nearly unbearable, and that's without considering the rest of it's flaws. They're ultimately Arma-lite games that were marketed for consoles and Jow Forums, and Jow Forums in general, is more of a PC place. I have excellent memories of 4 player co-op in DR, and had a blast playing it, but if you're on PC there's no real reason to play it over Arma. Co-op with friends in Wildlands is GOAT. I fuckin love that game, Jow Forums can fight me IRL.
Jace Wright
>Mirrored guns >sped-up, compressed vocals make everything sound off >enemy vehicles will slingshot past you no matter how fast you just dusted past them >walk 10 feet from cleared-put checkpoint and catch a bullet from the respawned enemies. >lol 2 factions but both are hostile no matter what because we don't want to bother coding faction AI Don't get me wrong the setting is amazing but FC2 is basically a Yurojank game.
Jace Sanders
>be me in Fallout New Vegas >mod like crazy >I do that Historical Uniforms Mod and grab Spencers Carbine >Union Soldier walking around with Spencers Carbine >all of a sudden the Spanish Inquisition (legion assassins) attack BattleHymn.mp3 >they died >go back to New Vegas >prostitutes are bare chested >rape her like the we did to Atlanta >then I go killin
Is that the ranger edition or something? Can't you torrent it?
Ian Smith
This
The FO4 mod to recreate FO:NV in the improved engine so far looks fucking great. Hopefully they just automatically implement most of the content people need to download to make the game godtier. And have cut content legion quests. If it's built right we'll probably literally see a Renaissance of mods for the mod.
Ayden Harris
wargame, its a real gem for Jow Forums. hard to learn, easy to master, 100% Jow Forums 100% fun get the latest: wargame: red dragon
Angel Lopez
SYNTHETIK? early access game on steam but its shooting mechanics and gunplay are solid, and reloading is so fucking satisfying (timing reloads perfectly gives temporary damage and movement speed boosts)
I second that. Even though three game was released in 2003 it still stands up decently. Multiplayer can still work through patches too.
Adam Davis
>all that pot smokin
Nolan Robinson
>how Far Cry 5 makes preppers and other pro-gun Jow Forums tier groups the good guys
tell me more user, i know nothing about the story. last far cry i touched was 2, the setting was great but everything else fucking sucked
David White
>current Tarkov meta >try to do literally anything >Nigger McGee magdumps all 60 rounds of his drum mag out of his suppressed M4 into you Yup, now this is epic
Hudson Nelson
Extraction Point is the only expansion worth playing, and FEAR is the original.
FEAR 2 and 3 suck balls.
Matthew Jackson
2 is just 1 but looks better.
Noah Anderson
Freeman: Guerilla Warfare is one that should be on your radars. It's mount and blade but in balkanized modern Russia. Pretty basic right now since early access but it gets regular updates and is growing pretty quick.
Gabriel Hernandez
I was pleasantly surprised too.
Jayden Carter
yeah its ridiculous. Damn I don't even know what I was thinking buying it, I don't even like the battle royale genre.
Thomas Anderson
US Marshals go to arrest doomsday cult leader who is kidnapping and killing people, get btfo, begin usual Far Cry cycle of helping the local fudds and bubbas out and killing bad guys, oh and the bad guy is right about doomsday and the world ends after you beat him
Jordan Anderson
The story is about a Cult that is essentially an amalgamation of all the Abrahimic religions, in some ways resembling the Branch Davidians with the Leaders likeness to Koresh and the Seven Seals meme but more often with the kind of kookiness and violence you would expect from The Peoples Temple (Jonestown) and Heavens Gate. They sing alot of christian hymns but frequently quote the old testament, Talmud, Hadith and Quran and directly target the only religious denominations in the county - which are Protestant Christian, going so far as to deface the New Testament
You a junior deputy, your sheriff, 2 other deputies and a US Marshall attempt to apprehend the leader of the cult after a viral video surfaces showing him potentially killing/mutilating someone during services.
Yor arrest the leader and This naturally sets off their Armageddon prophecy and opens their 1st "Seal" -, Which aggros them all to hell and back and they seize most of the county by force.
Citizens that are not captured and converted/purged by the cult take up arms and fight back, the cult is using communications jamming technology
Blake James
Basically crazed Bible belt Christians with fanatical put on 11 with the dial broken off decide to set up base in Montana. Grab a bunch of cult members from around the country and set up in bumble fuck nowhere after buying up all the farms in the surrounding area. Control all the telephone, power lines, and local police/government station. Basically trying to do what the Rajneeshee did, but no bioterror and all guns blazing. Just so turns out the locals don't appreciate when a bunch of foreign out-of-state batshits come setting up. That and the off-the-grid folk who just want to be left alone. So in response to coo coo for Jesus puffs cult members, the locals form militias to fight off these cultists.
Now that's where you come in as the deputy. You basically arrest the guy but the helicopter gets knocked out of the air, you survive but you're being chased down by cult members. After a car chase you get flung off the side of a bridge but get picked up by a survivalist. Basically the survivalist helps you get back on your feet and advises you the best way to get you back on you fight the crazed cult is by getting help from the local militias.
Tl;dr Militia group members are fighting with crazed cult and they need the protagonist's help.
Yee. The funny thing is that some of the chicken shit left got pissy it wasn't political. Pro-tip: set the speed to 1.25 to 1.5. Dude talks way too slowly. youtube.com/watch?v=77yZpHOrQW0
Austin Cooper
now i'm watching all the endings on youtube, actually seems nice
maybe i'll take a look at the game, now i kinda wanna know how it ended up with these marshalls just walking in to that chapel and shit
Farcry might be generic but damn for the weapons play feel fun War thunder/ world of series might be a bit overrated but okay. Killing floor
Tyler Long
He's technically not right about doomsday, as you can walk away at the end and call in the National Guard instead although that ending somewhatimplies your cult brainwash conditioning kicks in and you kill the sheriff, preventing them from informing the Nat Guard.
Michael Adams
Fucking spoiboys
Connor Nelson
I love doom.
Angel Roberts
>Christians >They hunt down christians, deface christian churches, and sully a bible >They only quote Torah/Old Testament, Talmud, Hadith and Quran >They never mention Jesus
They were specifically made this way to piss off the least amount of people, hell even the left wing jokes are counter-acted by right wing ones, although it's obvious they took heavy inspiration from Branch Davidians and esp. The Peoples Temple (Jonestown) - the latter without a doubt being an overwhelmingly violent cult espousing leftie ideas (Which this PEG cult does as well in game) There's also subtle inspiration from other extremist religious groups outside of christianity The game tries it's damndest to stay as Politically and Religiously moderate as possible
Noah Nelson
Ultimate Jow Forums vidya >innawoods >protagonist has a boner for gunz >epic plot >muh camo >Kojima-san >tits >OCELOT
The normal sights are sperging out about it not making fun of Trump and conservatives enough. A few spergs I know are mad at a few Trump jokes. I don't like the Far Cry series much, but I think that's a sign they balanced the political humor part well.
Ryan Wilson
>watching endings on YT >"Look around you.. this world is on the brink. you can feel it.. in your bones. Look at the headlines. Look who's in charge."
Holy fucking shit they're actually right
I'll get that game next month when i picked up my new computer, now i'll play it with a whole different perspective than i could have ever had without having been spoilered
Is FC5 really that good? Is it actually one worth spending time on?
Jordan Kelly
>implying individuals can survive on the battlefield
Elijah Brooks
Rainbow Six Las Vegas 2 was really fuckin fun New Vegas with some good mods EYE Divine cybermancy for that cyberpunk feel with interesting gun play This is fun with friends. They even mention Jow Forums in the game. The dialogue is nigh unbearable but it wasn't bad like "everyone is a lesbian" in the division, which is in New York but there is a nasty cold going around that new Yorkers like to blame their crime on. God that game had so much potential.
It pokes fun at Trump, including a piss tape mission and the Cult Leader denouncing building walls, at the same time the milita and other non-cultists in the game world deride Obama by name and espouse right wing ideas/make right wing jokes. The game has a more right wing tinge because good guys = right wing and because the game is extremely suspicious of Federal Government types - the US Marshall makes the initial arrest 1000x worse and twice commits cowardice during the intro and is easily indoctrinated, you run into a "deep state" federal agent for the piss tape mission who goes back on his word to bring assets to bear against the cult, despite the cult harboring an whistle blower/informant against the federal Government as well as harboring Russian Spies in hiding
The game is suprisingly critical of the Federal Government, going so far to suggest the cult may have some friends in high places, high enough to avoid the hammer dropping down on them for harboring Foreign spies and Whistle Blowers
Other than that it tries to be as moderate as possible, the few SJW jokes there are are usually hilarious and at SJW expense either intentionally (see Mabel at Peaches farm) or ironically (Hurk Jr)
Owen Reed
It's probably not helped by the Cult being the only people in the game who espouse left wing ideas.
I Just wish the game was a little more realistic in terms of guns, not happy with every AR being F/A capable and either a short carbine or a 18" 10 round sniper variant. They should have had a better gun customization system.
The map creator however is excellent, and MP is fun and has some potential despite the Mic/Voice bug that's been going on
Aiden Diaz
It's just too bad they didn't play it from an ATF angle, but they paint all the Federal Agents in the game to be incompetents or outright corrupt
Caleb Gomez
It's only 1 US Marshall supported by local LEO's (Including yourself), implying Montana has a slim Federal LEO presence
Ryder Sanders
I have this but find it incredibly difficult to navigate. I can access a variety shooting ranges but can't ever figure out how to play actual game modes and I've never found the 'grilling simulator' portion of the game.
Asher Gomez
They're buffing recoil, making mags take time to reload, and a trillion other thing in the new patch (should be this week) We'll see if it fixes the bullshit meta, right now I dont play much at all
Chase Walker
Play it on hard.
The intro is going to suck though, i died over 25x times to that fucking driving section
After that it gets much better, you have to weigh your approaches very carefully
Connor Thomas
I liked it and was good fun.
Some issues eeked my inner autism like the op rod on the M1A being on the other side.
Brandon Myers
Not even, the story for 2 is completely shit.
Jason Hughes
There is a good amount of conspiracy theory in it, heavily/outright suggesting the Cult has friends in high places in the federal government, the drug they produce, Bliss, is created by indoctrinated Scientists that are allegedly *disappeared* by the fedgov, the primary actor in the drug bliss being Scopolamine - a hallucinegic historically used in a myriad of drugs from anti-nausea to "truth-serums" - primarily derived from variants of the Henbane flower - a nightshade
Jason Cruz
>snake's 5 minute long monologue describing every retarded detail about his handgun >completely optional option to dial in sigint to get real life facts about the guns you acquire >snake's weird autistic tendencies are strongest in MGS3, reflecting the autism of Jow Forums Yup this game is pretty fucking awesome
Gavin Cox
>you have to weigh your approaches very carefully Or you can just murder everything because the game treats stealth like you're fucking invisible and has 1-button-jason-bourne
The thing with 7.62 mods is that they add too many guns.
Or rather, that they add guns that make no sense in the setting in amounts that make even less sense. When random bandit group in bumfuck nowhere south american shithole is reason armed with mix of stoner 63 , japanese type 64s, brit EM-2s in .280, Volkssturmgewehrs and FG-42s - this really kills the immersion. And so does the regular army using 40 different rifles from all around the world mixed without any rhyme or reason.
Its like every mod degisner is autist that absolutely has to cram every single gun he ever heard about into the game. And then put all this hardware in the field. I could understand if they had added , lets say some kind of forgotten weapons website, like bobby ray's in JA, where you could order the rare and weird stuff. This would at least make some sense - But no. In the middle of south american jungle you apparently encounter rare and unique weapons form around the world every 10 steps.
Russkies did it right in the 7.62 derivative game Man of Prey. Its set post-collapse russia, so you have guns that are common in russia + american ones used by US troops, and that's it.
a $500 headset with a $25 game ends up being cheaper than getting an FFL and buying an arsenal of full auto weapons/ammo and prototype weapons that are unobtanium
