The MXC and the SCAR are both pretty cool. When the SCAR first came out I read through a super technical analysis of it looking at chamber temps, how quickly it burned off oil, bolt velocities, etc. Its a well engineered rifle.
The Hk 416 has some super near features as well, the spring loaded bolt definitely being one, but I don't think its as interesting as the other two.

piston impact is delayed and can be tuned with springs. Locking time is affect by the cam path also. Think about the forces in play for a moment and really think about why the gas rings are there.
