>op is too dumb to figure out caveman-tier technology
minis are retarded
You fucking idiot take a broom stick and tape at the end a kitchen knife it isn’t that hard to do.
Btw sharpened screw drivers would do as well
>taking on an elephant with a sharpened screw driver
Be careful if you spear-related travels bring you to NY. It's illegal to hunt waterfowl with spears here.
Why would you hunt elephants with a spear?! Are you out of your mind or something? You’re gonna get killed
>Why would you hunt elephants with a spear?! Are you out of your mind or something? You’re gonna get killed
It really doesn't take many warriors to kill elephant by spear throwing barrage, they recoil heavily when you start and stop their charge
Yes but you have to hire a pack of niggers to help you (simply because if they get killed no one would care) but at this point use poison and kill it that way.
Either that or buy a rifle
aren't there videos on how to make your own?
isn't there a kid that made a pretty good one on video?
Or taping a spear to it
>Carthago delenda est
You’re supposed to stab the elephant thru the heart from underneath.
Have you checked the stores in Chinatown? They’re usually the places that used to carry that sort of thing. Maybe I. Goldberg.
There ya go buddy.
No
Cold Steel Boar Spear
agreed. generally anything cold steel.
does cold steel produce nice bladed products?
I feel like they're edgy as fuck, especially through their videos, but that they make decent products.
Here's the rundown on Cold Steel. Most people on Jow Forums only know the new improved Cold Steel and aren't familiar with how they were before, thinking all the crap people talk about them is memes.
Swords:
>tough and durable
>otherwise bad
>terribly balanced
>not put together very well
>some of the new ones are actually good (the ones they bothered to consult an expert for)
Knives
>strongest locking systems
>have upped their game in steels and grinds in the past 2-3 years
>cheap knives are good value or acceptable only because they're cheap
>mid-tier knives are great
>high-tier knives are overpriced for what you're getting
Machetes
>a bit expensive for a machete, but otherwise serviceable
>main appeal is vaguely resembling swords and selling like hotcakes to mall ninjas
Self Defense products
>relatively sturdy but otherwise super gimmicky and mall ninja
Other
>has a history of shady business practices
>known for biting off other manufacturers
>also known for frivolous lawsuits
>marketing team is the equivalent of the internet tough guy or the guy with a tapout shirt at the bar who wants to fight everybody
What about their spears? do they fall under the Other category?
I just want to know their spears are effective and sturdy against something like elk or black bear and not just hogs, judging by the name.
A screwdriver is retarded, you'd be better off putting a point on a butter knife. The wider the blade the faster they will bleed out.
Spears are good. It's pretty hard to fuck up a spear.
They have a reputation. HEMA people highly dislike their advertising as the weapons are often just sharpened crowbars; however if you are not into HEMA and just want an affordable sword that you can swing around and won't m.youtube.com
>>marketing team is the equivalent of the internet tough guy or the guy with a tapout shirt at the bar who wants to fight everybody
You sort of sound like you're blowing hot air and just get off on being a jerk. Do you think they're they hiring?
There was a pro spear chucker that put a youtube video up throwing a spear at a black bear in Canada. Made quite a controversy. They've been talking about banning spear hunting now because of it. Video might still be up on youtube.
I always wanted to try deer or board hunting with a spear sometime. Wouldn't be surprised if it starts getting banned everywhere though.
The closest thing to a spear head from a hardware store is a forged masonry trowel. The bent handle shank would have to be heated redhot and reshaped, then the trowel would have to be rehardened, or you would have to grind the handle off and rivet the flat blade to a hardwood handle. The steel eould be properly tempered though, and would just beed some sharpening.
this, except the masai version, it doesn't have the depth prongs that prevent overpenetration, you don't want those because you may have to stab through a car door and you don't want it getting stuck.
it's either the masai or the asegai, the one that doesn't have the gay boar prongs.
yes their spears are excellent because balance isn't an issue. it's just a spear head with a hollow that you put a stave into. A dowel will even work. then you can secure it with a screw or whatever.
Knock yourself out.
t. Cold Steel shill
Michael Janich, a noted knife defense expert, wrote an article on the inefficiency of the American tanto blade shape. Cold Steel's rebuttal was them saying he didn't know shit and telling him to just bleed. Then they said they invented the shape (they popularized it but didn't invent it) and stabbed some meat like it was a conclusive test.

Cold Steel makes good knives, but they have a documented history of being pretty aggressive and borderline scummy guys in the knife industry.
Well I in particular just want a spear in case a bear snoops around and tries to attack or wreck things in my yard.
Wouldn't exactly go bear hunting with a spear, don't trust myself enough for that.
what do you guys think about this:

Would the end result be useful in day to day SHTF living?
What about living like a caveman?
yeah, it'll work and his other builds are pretty rugged
>throwing spear
Seems awfully stocky and short to be a throwing spear, only the blade is really designed to be part of a throwing spear, but the stock that the blade is attached to seems way too thick and heavy, at least it seems so to me.
Would make a good non-throwing spear though, if the blade was a bit longer and wider.
Or a Cold Steel Bushman knife - preferably bowie version. It can be affixed to the pole of your choosing.
Take long stick, put groove in top
Put pointy rock on long stick
Wrap point rock stick with strong vine
>Metal point stick
Metal for berrypickers, grug no need metal for hunt. Metal rock cut deer in half.
>be me
>edgy teen
>is noguns cause family is poor
>get cheap machete machete from walmart
>the gerber gator junior
>actually works pretty well
>have shit tons of dead rasberry bushes near old garden and septic
>a tree or two is growing near the septic
>tape a no tang ''''survival'''' knife to a broom handle
>slightly effective
>remember machete from years back
>tape machete on as well
>works like a dream
>no tang knife literally breaks
>machete cuts trees a few inches thick in one swipe
me no understand why one need spear
use rock
rock bring many animl to cave
op is a metal loving faggot
we will show you way of rock
we stone you
You could just make one yourself. It really isn't that hard.
NO CHILDREN IN K!
>just hogs
>spear for bear defense
Get spray too, mong. The boar spear has wings to keep charging animals from just further impaling themself on the spear in order to maul you, there is no other suitable spear for fighting animals.
If you just want to throw it, sharpen some poles from Lowes
DO NOT CONFRONT POOH, CALL POLICE AND HIDE
Mossberg
he had it coming to him
Holy shit what are you talking about, if a bear wants to wreck your shit in your yard he gets to. Black bears are sort of pussies and they'll probably run just because you yelled, but they can charge and kill you a lot fatter than they can bleed out from a chucked spear
>CALL POLICE AND HIDE
yo gusy, theres a bear in my forest?!
fuckin' yogi on the loose again, better keep him at a distance from my picnic basket with my spear or else the fat fuck will eat it again.
Don't tread on my basket!!!!
>how to plowshares to swordz
>what is blacksmithing
tl;Dc = get a low carbon core and high carbon edge. heat it up real hot, wrap high carbon around low carbon, keep at blinding yellow, hammer it until it folds, do that again, do that again x 10, hammer edges until you get desired shape.
For proper handle get composite or compressed bo staff handle. ensure 1/3 of handle can be affixed inside of your new spear.
Do NOT attempt to cut a tank in half. Do not go to cosplay conventions. Do not think you will chop down a 5 inch diameter pine tree in one swipe.
Or order some crap of budk...
