Recently I've gained the desire to buy a BB gun (An image is provided). I told my parents about this but my mother doesn't want me getting one. she then told me about this one time where I nearly got killed with one (I was around 2 years old and still in her arms) and she counts that as a reason
would you guys classify that as a valid reason?

Its not a valid reason. Just say that whatever happened back then was because of irresponsibility by the shooter and that you can handle this. Your mother just wants to protect you but is being irrationally afraid of something that won't harm you. :^)
