The year is 1917

You have been given the command of a unit of trench raiders, you are able to equip them with any weaponry available in 1917. What do you pick?

Fedorov Avtomat assault rifle.

5 man units.
One man with Browning Auto-5.
One man with BAR.
Three men with 1903's.

>1917

Trenchguns and machine guns all around.

Maybe a couple Enfields or Krag-Jorgensens with an optic for sniping.

RSC 1917s for the riflemen, Lewis guns for the machine gunners/automatic riflemen, Lugers for sidearms for whoever gets those. Throw in a couple Winchester 1897s and it'll be good to go.

Shovels, pistols, and a fuck ton of grenades

Whatever. A Chauchat then, not the 30-06 one.

Winchester M1910s; Colt M1911s for sidearms. Lots of fragmentation grenades.

>RSC 1917s for the riflemen
Too long IMO.

That Australian machinegun that was kinda used.

>Too long
Yeah, but it's a semi auto rifle that functions reasonably well. Volume of fire for crossing no man's land is important. If it was 1918 I'd have chosen the carbine.

>beretta 1918’s
>bayo’s
>grenades
>as much ammo and mags as each man could comfortably carry on their person.

We are trench raiding after all, so close quarters with a fast as fuck gun wins the day.

Whatever army I'm with, it'll be mostly pistols, melee weapons, and grenades. Trench raids were close quarters, no need to bring rifles

Exactly. Easily reloadable side arms like a luger or 1911, melee weapons, and as many grenades as you can possibly carry.

Lugers, knives, handgrenades
Would also pick the MP18 but that wasn't used widely until 1918

>>beretta 1918’s
there's a reason it's called 'model 1918'...

Any?
>C96 trench carbine or Luger with trommel mag
>Winchester 1907 with extended mag, front grip, pistol grip instead of stock
>Similar config for Remington 8 if possible
>Browning Auto-5 with extended tube but shorter barrel, shortened stock
>Madsen lmg with shortened barrel and forward grip on left side for hip fire
>as many grenades as possible
>trench maces and clubs, trench knifes

A flamethrower, shotguns, repeating rifles with detachable magazines, grenades

Shitload of grenades.

a sniper rifle and kill hitler

Winchester 1892s and Colt New Services, both in. 44-40. Should've used these from the beginning.

This. Obviously.
Trips confirms

>Madsen lmg with shortened barrel and forward grip on left side for hip fire
Actually that is a pretty decent idea. But to be honest I don't necessarily think it's about the weaponry, it's about getting Canadian trench raiders at night.

>What do you pick?
shotguns, revolvers, grenades, clubs and satchel charges
