Had the pleasure of meeting the man. He was in San Mateo doing a toys for tots gig.
Just got back from deployment, getting ready to go to the purple church. Walked in and there he was. So we bought like a Barby doll and a firetruck to put in the toys for tots bin. Then gunny Ermey said "well bless your heart boys". Then we asked if we could take a picture with him.
He obliged. I wish I could show the photo but it's on a old phone hard drive. He shook each of our hands and said "proud of you boys".
Then we went and had a lot of fun. But damn crazy and cool I met Gunny Hartman.
