80% Builds and CA

Okay who the fuck else is flabbergasted by all the conflicting info regarding 80% builds in CA?

Mostly 80% pistol (Polymer80) builds.
Polymer80 says their frames are CA-compliant, and all you have to do to build one is get a random serial number engraved on it first.

However other people say it's only okay if it's single shot because it violates the unsafe handgun laws?

What the fuck is going on here?
Also general calicuck confusion thread I guess

You can start by buying a plane ticket to a free state.

It makes life so much easier.

>ree just move out of california ree

Nobody fought in CA which is what led up to the draconian laws in the first place.

Now CA and NY's shitty laws are making it up to the federal level.

You all are dipshits for taking the easy way out instead of stopping the madness.

>Polymer80 says their frames are CA-compliant, and all you have to do to build one is get a random serial number engraved on it first.
>However other people say it's only okay if it's single shot because it violates the unsafe handgun laws?
both of these are lies. the first one is wrong because engraving some random# isnt all you have to do theres more shit that ends in register to stay legal.

singleshot exemption has always been wink wink nudge nudge bullshit. what it boils down to is oh at some point in the past it was a single shot config and thus was legal when sold/built. nobody has no idea or control over what the owner did afterwards with their property. meanwhile the owners like oh it was like that when i got it nobody is to blame.

If you engrave/finish the lower before July, it doesn't have to be registered with the state. As long as serial number meets ATF regulations (manufacturer name/location, and serial #)

You can literally engrave any serial # you want.

Single shot exemption was amended to include if the pistol was *originally* semi-auto. But when you build 80% it's not originally ANYTHING.

>As long as serial number meets ATF regulations (manufacturer name/location, and serial #)
and your supposed to fit all that on the tiny metal plate how?
what youve got to understand is all of ca gunlaws are full of fucking holes since the lawmakers dont shit about guns other than they are scary and we want to ban all of em. in ca theres always a loophole or exception to get what you want if you pay enough. the laws are left intentionally vague so you could think you were complying with the law and doing everything legally then get arrested anyways. maybe you dont get convicted but you still have to fight that shit in court and lawyer up before it gets dropped.

you know bullet buttons were never officially sanctioned by the state. the whole time they were selling em the status was iffy. up untill the state took a stance saying they illegal now.

You can't fight demographics in a representative democracy, dumbass. CA is full of fragile idiots, it doesn't matter how big of a pain in the ass you think you are going to be, you aren't going to win them over.

>you know bullet buttons were never officially sanctioned by the state. the whole time they were selling em the status was iffy. up untill the state took a stance saying they illegal now.
Kinda true. The CA DOJ refused to rule on their legality until their hand was forced. Which would be like the ATF refusing to reply to requests on whether it is legal to shoulder a brace or not. Eventually some idiot cop arrested a guy with an AR headed back from the range and the CA DOJ was FORCED to admit bullet buttons are legal. I think that was about 5 years ago. Of course that then put the loop hole on every gaping ass politician's radar so the current legislation got passed.

>and your supposed to fit all that on the tiny metal plate how?

Atomic Engraving in Sylmar does it. Their stuff all meets the ATF required font size etc too.

>you know bullet buttons were never officially sanctioned by the state. the whole time they were selling em the status was iffy. up untill the state took a stance saying they illegal now.

This is true, anyone who owned an AR back then remembers this. Every single person who sold bullet buttons had a big fat disclaimer saying they weren't officially DOJ-approved.

It's just a matter of time before they go after the new locking devices too.

Who said anything about winning them over?

bump

You act like the US constitution is just a piece of paper and states can do whatever the fuck they want

It's a grey area from what I understand, and as long as you do it before July or w/e, it's going to stay in this grey area.

Not to say that's going to stop CA from retroactively legislating it just like they've done with fucking everything, though.

Gun ownership in CA is living in the grey zone. Fuck Calguns is full of old fudd bootlickers who go above and beyond to comply to self contradictory laws so it's a terrible source of actual info.

you speak of grey areas but I'm a former californian now in NY, I left my guns at my parent's house :^)
that'll be one for the books

>former californian now in NY

Which state is worse?

>both of these are lies. the first one is wrong because engraving some random# isnt all you have to do theres more shit that ends in register to stay legal.

Care to elaborate?

As long as the supreme court refuses to put California in it's place, it is.

So all of a sudden our rights are only inalienable if the supreme court decides to defend them?

NJ is pretty bad

don't buy guns. save the cash instead for moving expenses and get the fuck out of Mexico.

Effectively, until either the supreme court puts them in their place or the people do. Yes.

Yes you stupid faggot.
Go ahead and scream "shall not be infringed" while they haul your ass to jail and see how that works out for you.
The constitution is a piece of paper unless someone steps in to protect/enforce it.

Cal 3 will possible be on the ballot for November, so looking forward to that working out unless you live in LA, SF, or Sacramento

"Rights" are just words until they're enforced with violence. The constitution is meaningless without the state using the threat of imprisonment on other parts of the state to restrict its own power.

That's a great way to create 4 more antigun senators.

Yeah bro Benji Frank and Washington will totally descend from the heavens to protect your rights. It's not like civilized society is just a collection of individuals loosely following a set of mutually agreeable guidelines indoctrinated in them since birth or something.

its doesn't give California more power, it redistribute the power it already has. its similar how California politicians are flipping their shit over the census bureaus question are you a us citizen because if it comes back there are more illegals than citizens then California loses pull in future polls but that's is if people answer honestly. the whole point of Cal 3 is to split red counties from blue counties. tho thanks to success of the signatures from Cal 3 the Calexit fags are trying to get signatures now to be on the ballot which at that point I'm worried that will be more successful than Cal 3 but kind of wish if Calexit goes through that US Insurgency will go up or be okayed by the us government.

worse than NY?

It doesn't matter OP. They will continue to change the laws. At one point they decided that any gun that is black is an assault weapon. They recently outlawed shotguns with rifled barrels (How many people were killed with those?). You can still buy whatever you want, but can you use it for self defense? Fuck California.

t.escaped californian that never voted left and never will.

>its doesn't give California more power.
It literally does. More states = more senators.
